We've seen several this gen as well. Again, it's just how it works. You can buy a game at launch along with a season pass or any subsequent DLC items you're interested, or, you can wait about a year or so and then buy it all as one package.

It's a very fair tradeoff and makes perfect sense for a developer.

I did see that the XL version will retail for $60. If you already have the game, you can download the XL pack (all the DLC) for $25 or you can buy just the second pack (assuming you have the first already) for $20.

Be thankful it's not like DOA, which has had an "Ultimate" edition and "Last Round" edition after the standard game, and they're still releasing DLC for Last Round.

Exactly. Hell... have we forgotten the SNES days? Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Hyper Street Fighter II Champion Edition, etc... It's been going on for years but at least now, unlike with the Street Fighter example, early adopters and newcomers alike all have the option to own the same content as opposed to being forced to buy an entirely new game.

Haven't seen controversy over what the last page of posts have teed off on, just that it's not coming to PC which isn't something that regularly happens so I can see why people might be upset.

One can only assume that has to do with the return on investment for the devs. If the sales weren't there on PC for the original game and they have reason to feel that they won't be there for expansions or ultimate editions, then there isn't any point in investing resources towards that platform. Doing something out of "loyalty" is a quick way to find yourself bankrupt. Focus on where the money is; if the devs felt that included PC then it would stand to reason we would see this content there as well. These decisions aren't made out of spite or to simply screw over a customer base.

I think it's just a publisher thing. First Arkham Knight and now this. Was a bad port that still sold 500k units.

Abandoning people that already purchased your game is pretty low. The game sold well on PC. Well enough for them to support the players that bought it.

I waited and would have preferred the PC version but I guess I'll grab the console XL version if there's no PC.

Well, unfortunately we aren't privy to what's going on behind the scenes. At the end of the day a company isn't going to turn down significant/guaranteed profit. Clearly something here told them that the money to be made didn't outweigh the trouble.

When the players purchased the same season pass at the same price, they need to support them. I don't care how much work is required to make it happen. If you're going to consider doing what they did, they need to not offer the season pass initially and make an early claim that a specific platform may not get the same content.

Further, they need to come out and make an announcement about it. They've done nothing except reply to someone's tweet.

We're talking about WB here after all. Not some small indie shop that has five people working on a game for three platforms.

You're right, but my main point was that players invested heavily in their product, only to be left out in the cold. It appears that PC players won't get the improved netcode update either. There's a lot wrong with that.
