Beat the cleric beast on the 3rd try. You need to be all up in that *** literally.

I have been having an absolute blast with this game. When I am not playing, I am thinking about it. I am calling in reinforcements tonight for the 2nd boss, don't wanna waste all my blood vials I have farmed.

      Re: Bloodborne

While I recognize all the Souls games and Bloodborne are quality games, I would love to see one "pro" reviewer not be afraid to say the games are too hard. I have gotten two of the Souls games and quit both because they stopped being fun. I bought Bloodborne hoping I will somehow play this one better, but I'm sure I will get about five hours in and get sick of trying to get past the same area over and over.

I think reviewers are afraid to not like the Souls games. They are worried it will make them appear uncool or unskilled. I love the Souls games for the first few hours, then get frustrated and angry because I cannot get past a certain point. Which really stinks because I want to experience the amazing atmosphere of the games. I suppose I lack the focus and reflexes to get very far. I envy those of you who will be able to finish the game.

I definitely understand and appreciate your viewpoint.

While I do admire From for their dedication to their "hardcore" approach, I do think there are ways they could compromise just a little without distilling the product or diluting the experience. I think the game could definitely hold your hand a little bit more, especially with maybe initial tutorials or introductions on how everything works.

It is too bad that the learning curve, unforgiving nature of the game, and overall intimidating presence their games have might turn people off from experiencing the marvelous atmosphere and environments that seem to have been carefully hanscrafted by the devs. I don't blame anyone though. I traded in Souls after a week. I gave this game shot and so far am very much invested. Probably 21 hours in and can't put the game down. I am still stuck on the fourth boss, just died for the 11th time. Getting a little frustrating but I'm sure I will get it eventually. It is a little daunting that one slight mistake and 75 percent of your health is gone. I guess that's what makes these games what they are tho

Say I want to load up on Souls (can finally make my way throught the current unlocked areas without fear of dying) before trying the second boss again. Will he and other enemies power up along with me? He beat my butt pretty good the first couple tries, so I was thinking maybe beefing up a bit could help. But if he levels up with me, I'll give it ago again as my character stands now.

I couldbe wrong aero but I think all enemies in th game have a set amount of hp and attack power, I don't think it changes

Someone correct me if I'm wrong tho

That's why I spend a lot of time grinding. I know the really good players can make it through without leveling up very much but I don't think my skill will ever be close to that, I need all the helpi can get

I'm gonna record my next attempt at boss four. If I fail I'm gonna upload it and ask you guys to critique me. I must just not be comprehending the strategy.

Pretty much sums up my experience with Dark Souls, I've never put so much time into a game and not beat it. I do appreciate it for what it is and don't think it should be watered down to appease my old azz, it's just not for me. Bloodborne looks so good though, too bad I'll never play it.

Got to the 2nd boss and beat him on the first try. The key is to parry his attacks. Got about 4 parries then lit him up with 3 molotovs and he was down. I used about 9 blood vials during the fight.

Also for those wondering about which starting weapon you should have chosen after you beat the 2nd boss you can buy all the starting weapons for cheap.

There's opinion articles and videos discussing the difficulty of the Souls games. The Souls games are niche and when it comes to reviewing niche games, any site that employs several editors is going to assign the review to somebody who's already familiar with them.

I don't know the last time that I got up early to play a bit before work.

I did for 45 minutes this morning and beat the first boss who I couldn't beat yesterday. Great way to start the day!

                              Re: Bloodborne

I adored Demon's Souls though I played it for just a bit and then 4 months later I went back and for some reason it clicked. Finished it straight through after that. I could not wait for Dark Souls and when it arrived I loved it. But when I got to Blight Town, where the air is poisonous and you just keep constantly losing health just being in the area, I got so fed up that I quit and I never went back. It just felt so cheap, as if it was just manufactured difficulty.

I would love to revisit the game. I still have it and Demon's Souls but I gave my PS3 to my kids when I went PS4. What I played of Dark Souls was amazing, but Blight Town just killed it for me.

I think the difficulty in these games is a bit much. No reason they could not have different levels of difficulty that, say, gave you the option for a few more save points here and there. I get that the difficulty is part of the charm, but I am always a fan of more options. I just hope there is no equivalent of Blight Town in Bloodborne.

Did some good today, including clearing the 1st boss. Think I am ready for #2.

I'm 0 for 20 on boss four now. lol

I might just do nothing but level up for a week straight before trying again. What's concerning me is the very first time I tried I got her down to less than 10 percent health left, but the last few times I barely get her halfway.

I've tried tips from here, I've watched videos and read guides, for some reason I just can't get it. I understand its key to stay behind but in order to get behind it seems impossible for me not to get swiped dodging my way in and around. I admit that I suck, it's not a game problem it's a me problem
