OK so after beating Eileen story line I went to Caine Hurst Castle on invite. This place has some of the craziest strongest enemies so far. I got through it to the boss but Martyr Lagaries is kicking my a..

Best I done so far is getting down to halfway. Is his crazy moves once he ports into the sky and has these spheres flying at me from all angles.

I hear this is ranked as one of the most toughest boss in the whole game. Well earned respect on that one

Just finished all three. Just used my cloud save and restarted each one.

Took me 43 hours and 30 minutes. My character is a 99.

Such an awesome game!

Edit: Says I'm only 55% done per trophy list.

Did you do the side bosses? The last boss in the game is the Queen, she's the deepest level of the dungeon.

Martyr Logarius is whooping me every single time. I got close once with just needing a shot and got greedy.

I just jumped and screamed so loud that I think neighbors are about to call the POPO

I beat Martyr Lagarius and it was as satisfying victory as I ever had in a video game.

I lost more to Rom the Spider but that was because my frustration. Lagarius is a very tough excellent skilled boss and it took a lot out of me.

I had him down real low and did not want to make the same mistake I made the first time I fought him...I had him and got greedy and he came and whooped me. I was confident after the first time but noticed that the next 5 times he was whopping me. Then I started to learn his moves and this time I was down to no vials from 23 and he had very little stamina left but I ran back and had equiped Adriana vial which I never used and said to myself I might needed it and used it to get half my energy and went into him with a swipe of the blade and PREY SLAUGHTER....WOW

Got this yesterday, managed to beat the Cleric Beast and come very close to beating Father. Oh, and also run around getting lost for about 3 hours.

It's weird to me that you can't block. I know a lot of people did nothing but dodge in Demons/Dark Souls, but it was still nice to have the option.

Visceral attacks are pretty tough....it's hard to figure out which attacks an enemy can get staggered on, and if you guess the wrong one, you're probably going to die.

It's, well....horrifying that the game doesn't tip you off to bosses on your first arrival - the fog doesn't appear until you've encountered them once. That's just From Software being From Software. Your only indication that one is coming is the cutscene where they appear. I kind of knew where the Cleric Beast was based on some early video, but I ran blindly into Father and just got destroyed the first time.

As you can probably guess I'm playing this completely blind - I'm good at spoiler-dodging on the internet. Will be fun to read this thread back as I progress and see what others were saying about different parts of the game.

Maybe someone could answer two questions for me as I don't really want to go looking up info for stuff and finding out something I didn't want to know. Both relate to weapons and weapon strength:

What's the point to the saw cleaver's secondary mode? I seem to do less damage (or at least nearly identical at the best of times) to the smaller and MUCH faster primary mode. That long, slow swing has gotten me killed too many times to count, which is why I've basically stopped using it.

Along the same lines, what weapons specifically do the Strength and Skill ratings govern? In other words, in the case of the Saw Cleaver, which one influences its damage more? The R3 Help is pretty ambiguous here.

Gascoigne down - the fight finally went smoothly and I ended up WAY overprepared. Unlike a lot of my other attempts, I was fortunate I didn't have to see the final form for very long.

8 hours of content. 3 new areas and 10 new weapons. It's in the first part of the game I guess so will be interesting how this works if you've already beaten it, especially since most of the people excited for the dlc has beaten the game.

Wow, that looks great. Something to look forward to when I beat the main campaign in 3 or 4 years.
