Look at your water quality where your intake pumps are, it only takes a little bit of poop water to mess everything up. Other than building hospitals and clinics, increasing education also helps.

I think I finally got a hold of my traffic problems in my industrial area, I built a new industrial district with direct highway access and a new railyard while also dezoning a portion of my existing industrial area. No more gridlock now. My next project is creating a CBD in my downtown, getting offices to the highest level takes some work as it's tough to get the land value high while keeping the noise pollution low. Last night I basically re did the whole area, made 6 lane highways into 4 way while adding parks and trees.

Time goes by way to quick when I'm playing this game, started last night at 9, what I thought was 20 minutes later was actually 2.5 hours.

You all make me want this game badly, but I'm trying to withhold from spending any money right now unless needed. I've been busy playing SimCity 2013, and I am having fun, but this game looks to be above it.

So I got the Eden Project and plopped it in my downtown, that thing is like a cheat code, every part of my cities land value went through the roof, even my poop river.

My test city........yeah bad idea to put industry that close to the entrance. Trucks were backed up.

                    Re: Cities: Skylines

Industry is tricky since it spawns so many trucks. You really need to use at least 4 lane highways, give them very easy highway access(use one way roads for offramps), and do not allow them to go through residential areas via district policies.

                        Just downloaded this game.

I hope it runs smoothly on my laptop.

edit: It actually does run pretty smoothly, but I also haven't experienced a city with a lot of stuff going on yet. Still trying to get a feel for how to design and such.

The biggest challenge is maintaining good traffic flow and not over spending in the beginning.

Just broke down and bought the game. Should take about 5 minutes to download and install. Hopefully I have self control and allow myself to get some sleep before work tomorrow..... I doubt it.

I'm going to start a new one tonight after work. I need to find some good tutorials or something. I'm terrible at these games, but I like the concept of designing and managing things so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

It's really stupid and minor, but the fact that you can change the bus line colors and it updates the paint job of all the busses on that line may be my favorite feature in this game.
