I really enjoy this game but....


I'm going to have to put this game up for a while. The amount of toxic folks screaming if even a scent of things COULD go bad is just too much. I'm not going to listen to a bunch of cursing, immature kids/adults screaming at each other when it's just a game....not to mention the inevitable guy whom decides to throw the game to troll the others screaming.

It's just...it's too much. I feel like it's due to how Blizzard has calculated the SR and they need to adjust it.

Haven't really experienced this myself. But to be honest, Im a bad teammate and rarely mic up unless I hear an older person communicating on the mic. Most of the time I'm in a private chat with friends. Lol

PS4...my SR topped out at around 2700.

Sidenote: I really miss Roadhog because this Winston/D.Va meta is getting annoying.

Picked this up again after a long break. Came out at around 1800 SR and was doing well.

Went on a streak of some really, really, really bad teammates and dropped to around 1500. With the players I know play with I can't imagine ever getting over 2000. I just play with randoms.

Still a fun game though.

Stopped playing in April and started playing all last week and really doing well. That's all I've been playing.

Overwatch was a fun game. Lack of content release killed it for me though.
-Just 5 new heroes in 18 months since launch.
-Just 4 or 5 new maps in 18 months since launch
-Broken ranking system
-Lore based events that were "seasonal" and locked after 3 weeks.

I bet it's something that would be enjoyable to come back to every once in a while though.

I still play the game but not nearly as much as I used to. The ranking system just kills it for me.

I can play insanely well and have people on my team that won't switch because they're being countered...or are trolling...or I have a teammate leave that is not in my party...and I lose rank.

Holy cow I thought this thread got deleted. I'm still truckin away enjoying Overwatch. Might have something to do with the fact that I group up regularly though.

I don't think I'd still be going if it weren't for that fact. I am excited for OWL though. Never thought I'd be excited to watch e-sports, I always kind of scoffed at the idea, but after actually watching it, I'm kind of hooked.

Re-installed the game a couple nights ago. I quit right around the time Doomfist was released in early summer.

Game still plays solid, and I had fun messing around in a few QP games. Unfortunately the hero roster is still basically the same as what it was 2 1/2 years ago at release with a handful of new maps. I don't see myself getting back into it like I once did, but it's fun playing with friends still.

Is anyone still playing PC?

Myself and one of my friends still play semi regularly on my game nights usually twice a week. I took a good bit of time off too right before they released Orissa . Just picked back up before the OWL started.

It's still such a frustrating game for me. I place 2300 and then down to like 2000 and 2200. I enjoy the gameplay I just hate getting a stretch of 2-3 games where the team I randomly get put on is just plain garbage and had no chance from get go. And so kinda just stuck in this crapshoot at the gold level.

But nonetheless still play it and when get in a good match it is a really fun game . I think I still have you on friends list.

Cool, pretty sure I still have you too. I stopped playing comp even before my hiatus though. The matchmaker sucks, the ranking system sucks, and the toxic community on top of all of that just made it not worth my time. So, I spend all my time in QP and Mystery.


Looks like they finally fixed CTF. Only took them a year or so to put in place ability restrictions to make it play fair.

Been playing the game a lot his week. Fun as ever!
The new find a group feature seems to work pretty well if you are playing with randoms. At least ensure a balanced team of support, tanks and dps.

Played quick play with the new Symmetra...Torbjorn is going to be super annoying in some maps now.

This new Wrecking Ball character seems super fun yet really weird (hamster inside a metal cylical shield?).

Ashe is great.

She's probably the most fun character to play. She has some of the most traditional FPS mechanics of any hero in the game, and her total kit is just a lot of fun to use.

It's a shame that the dev team is so slow with updates and unable to fix certain game design flaws even 3 years into the game's life cycle. I really do enjoy playing the unit roster, but Mystery Heroes is the only mode that is bearable to me. Playing a mode where every time you or a teammate die that you are forced into a dice roll for team comp has its own issues, but thanks the the either ineptitude/apathy of Blizzard's dev team combined with the community's mentality it's actually probably the closest thing to a true Overwatch experience you can get.

Popular streamer and former pro OW player Seagull recently made a vlog about what he considers the problem with Overwatch. I don't fully agree with him, as his perspective is completely coming from a solo queue meta player (he does raise some interesting points still). He's definitely definitely right that there is something fundamentally wrong with this game though.

What is wrong? It’s 3 years into its life and still one of the most played FPS in the world.

Competitive
Hero balance
Lack of community tools (ie: like a replay system)
The community in general (mentality and playstyle that is encouraged by Blizzard systems)
etc...

You're mistaking the number of users as justification to not address the games many problems that it has had for 3+ years now.


It's not as if Blizzard isn't aware that there are issues with each of these. They address the problems on their official forums and subreddits. Nearly every interview at Blizzcon or anywhere else the Overwatch team is asked about these topics and more. For various reasons though they have been unable to or unwilling to tackle them even as we sit here 3 and a half years after the game's launch.

The reason I'm so critical is because at it's core Overwatch is a fun game, and I want it to be better.
