Re: Overwatch
My win/loss percentage with randoms is insanely low, and with a group of OSers it's probably pretty darn high. My stats stay pretty consistent but it's definitely easier to put up bigger numbers on better teams, especially deaths (dying less)."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Overwatch
Brawl stats are different and I dint think there is a section to see brawl stats on the career page. Found this out when I was wondering why I had no time with some characters I knew I used. But it was on the brawl where you had double life and like half cooldown so I trolled with Mei a lot as you could put up a wall and when that went down go into a block of ice and when that broke wall was ready. You could stall payloads for awhile.
But after that brawl was over it said I had no time with Mei.

Re: Overwatch
So how do you guys feel about the decision to go with cosmetic only progression, now that we have had the game a few weeks?
I know that for me a big part of playing a game is a sense of progression, that is why Division fizzled for me after the first 200 hours. That is also why a game like BF4 can get thousands of hours of play time since you are always working to unlock more guns, upgrades, etc.
In OW, do you wish there was something you could grind toward? Maybe go with the TF2 approach and make it so its not necessarily better weapons just alternate versions of weapons, at least give something you feel like you are grinding toward?
The gameplay itself is so fun and the game is just such a blast but I feel like it might only appeal to the "hardcores" after the shine wears offLast edited by The JareBear; 06-13-2016, 12:40 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Overwatch
For the record, I love the game and will probably always play it, just opening up a discussion. I am sure there may be some people out there who maybe had trouble investing a lot into the game due to lack of feeling like they were working toward anything"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Overwatch
I think another idea might be if Torbjorn is "dead" the turret is not operational. That way you can single him out first, eliminate and take out the turret safely. Otherwise he's racking up eliminations while "dead."PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Overwatch
One tip for Reaper players. In some of those 1v1 fights reloading can kill you. When you are about to have to reload, the animation of Reaper dropping his guns takes longer than the animation of his melee attack. So right when you run out of ammo, do a quick melee and your guns come back instantly reloaded. It can be the difference between life and death sometimes.PSN: JISTIC_OS

I also feel like I will be more likely to play again in the distant future without the grind because you won't fall behind friends just because you don't put in the same amount of time as them.Comment

Re: Overwatch
I actually like the lack of "progression" in terms of weapons. When games like Call of Duty really started to popularize weapon progression is when I started to lose interest in FPS games. Nothing is worse than starting out at level 0 with your default weapon and getting blasted by some level 50 with an epic gun. I think it would be even more difficult in a game like this because suddenly you have 21 characters with top tier guns that you would need to unlock, and that would be one heck of a grind.
I never really got into BF4 or games like that so I can't speak too much about what drives people to continue playing, but it doesn't seem like progression for that new weapon would be the determining factor. I mean, do you just stop playing when you unlock those higher level weapons? A FPS I did play with some kind of progression was Destiny. It had both weapon/armor progression and character classes. I stopped playing after a while though because the game just became stale. The new weapons and armor were cool and a goal to strive for, but it was such a huge grind to get them. Not long after I finished the story I realized I was just playing so I could unlock the next tier weapon instead of playing because it was fun. Whereas I play Overwatch simply because it's fun. It's still new and shiny so maybe that will wear off, but there are still the 21 different characters I can play around with to keep me going. Often times I'm switching them up mid match so things never seem to get too stale.
The tldr version is that it's a legitimate concern since the game doesn't have features that many other shooters have these days, but when I think back to games like Halo and Unreal Tournament which also didn't have the progression systems then I think Overwatch still has a chance to have a solid run.Comment
