@Zanner
I see you on a decent amount playing comp. Are you grouped up or solo queuing? I've been pretty much only 6 stacking this season, and I'm ready to change it up. 6 stack is totally the way to go, but the group I've been playing with this season pretty much forces me into low impact heroes. Partially because I have so much time spent as support and partially because I'm kind of the extra in the group. Which is fine, but playing Mercy and Lucio every game get's old, and I am pretty decent at DPS (not to mention I'm better at Ana than any of the guys who instalock her and force me into a mercy/lucio role) (I'm also not great with Mercy. Not that she's hard, but I'm not as good at taking full advantage of her kit/game awareness). We win more than we lose so it isn't too bad, but I would love to get to play some of the more fun characters in comp.
Interesting announcements for season 3 of ranked. Blizzard admitted that some people were ranked too high from their placement matches and will be implementing a fix for season 3. For one there will be a wider distribution of players as the vast majority of the population fell into Gold & Platinum. Plus, your rank from the prior season will carry over to some degree into your placement matches so that it isn't as much of a full reset as we saw in S2, though they have also said they plan on tuning everyone down a bit across the board at placement. Also, there will be larger swings in MMR after each win/loss early on in the season with the swings scaling down the after a while. This is so that if you should be ranked higher you can get there faster.
I'm excited for these changes. I didn't like how basically everyone was in Gold/Plat in S2. There was such a concentration there that it made matchmaking extremely volatile. There were 2200's who were just as good as 2700's and 2500's who probably should have been in Silver. It will be nice to see ranking be more reflective of actual skill.
