Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
I had to turn the game off I was so frustrated with the new guitar. I even plugged in my GH guitar and it worked but it doesn't let you log in under your PSN name. Says Guest when you turn it on.
I wasn't trying to brag by any means in my previous post about 100% Expert, but the fact I have missed so many notes on ridiculously easy songs is a joke. It is almost as if the guitar isn't reading it or something. I did calibrate too. I am very disappointed with the game thus far sadly.

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
I am having a really hard time getting used to this Rock Band guitar. I have yet to 100% any song I have played today on Expert and that is including the easy ones. I am missing notes I would not normally miss with the Guitar Hero guitar.

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
My thoughts:
- maybe it's just me because I never upgraded my equipment on XBOX 360 after the first Rock Band came out, but the build quality of the equipment is so much better. The drums in particular feel really solid, and like they might not repeatedly break on me for a change.
- the guitar freestyle sections make much more sense to me now, compared to what I played at E3. It appears to take a beat or two to register any changes in how you are playing (wrt strumming tempo especially), which you can work around and if you're really good anticipate. I'm having a lot more fun with it now than I did at first blush back in June.
- there are certain songs from the first couple Rock Band games and Rock Band: Blitz that I'm really missing right now. Hoping for some haste on the disc exports, though I realize that Harmonix probably has ten million hoops to jump through for all this DLC forward compatibility so I'll be patient.
- I pretty much played with a Guitar Hero II guitar for the whole time on XBOX 360, but the Strat guitar, while different, feels fine to me. Playing on Expert over here and other than obvious rust from having not played in a long while I'm doing okay. I'm also not really a score attack person, though, so I might be the wrong person to ask.
- there's a lot of little things with the fretboard UI that make the game feel more alive, particularly in career mode where you get post-song awards for doing various things (doing enough HOPOs, using enough Overdrive, etc.). It feels more alive and energetic.
- I miss Create-A-Setlist right now, but I haven't tried out the "Play A Show" option yet.
- Career mode's structure reminds me of Rock Band 1 career mode a bit. Could be the interface.
- Doesn't seem like there's an overwhelming amount of cosmetic character options? I won't say they skimped out, but I'm not sure there's enough there for everyone to make their own character feel unique. If Harmonix is dedicated to the whole "RB4 is a platform" thing, I'd like to see more cosmetic options added at some point.
I knew I'd enjoy the game when I got it, but I didn't realize I had missed it this much.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
I was about to complain about not being able to assign your created band members as stand ins in the Tour mode, but I read on Reddit that Harmonix is aware and that they will be fixing it. So that's good, I was pretty disappointed at first.

I did have some guitar issues tonight, on the latest guitar firmware.
I'm a Hard/Expert guitar guy, and would go on runs where I'd have no problems, then come across a 2-3 second span in a song where it seemed like my hits weren't registering before it went back to normal. For the first time I did have one total guitar freeze where buttons became unresponsive altogether. Popped a battery out and back in to clear it. Then I rattled off a Show of 6 songs that went fine. Went into Endless Solo mode just to screw around and had another guitar freeze. Same battery pop out to resolve. Followed that up with 4 more songs that were good.
No idea what the issue is. Going to try my old RB1 Strat tomorrow and see if I can narrow down if it's a software issue or (more likely?) a bluetooth connection issue with the RB4 Strat.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
I've had a few times where it seemed the guitar just flaked out on me. I assumed it was me. Is there a firmware update for the guitars?
Started the tour. Pretty neat that you make decisions along the way. Disappointed to see that your singer doesn't alternate with a female band member if you have one on female vocalist songs. Can't believe they took that out.

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
Im holding out hope for Harmonix to really use this game as a platform, and not just a one time deal.
They did so well with weekly dlc forever, so my hope is justified. As long as they make good on the promises they made on expanding the character creation, online play, and other things that seems cut out, this game will be great for years.

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
It's funny how human psychology works. I was mildly looking forward to this game. Now that the Xbox One version has a shortage and my Best Buy has no ETA I feel as if I want this title more than anything and I MUST HAVE IT NOW!!! LoL...oh well, that serves me right, the one single title I forgot to preorder is the one that's got a shortage.

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
For PS4 there is. You need a PC with bluetooth to do it though. Link is on Mad Catz support somewhere. I'm on mobile so I don't have a link ready, sorry.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
Question... can I play this with just the dualshock 4. I have a bunch of mics, but refuse to buy the game or peripherals because they removed online play and keyboards (plus all my dlc was on 360). I just was going to rent it and rack up trophies real quick.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
Though you can't use Remote Play. That would be... weird to do anyway, but I was going to use that to download my old songs in the RB store (though that's currently inaccessible right now).
I was aiming to do it in the PSN store, but after I select a song to download, when I back out I'm brought to the top of the download screen again. I don't want to keep scrolling down to find them again.
