Van Halen - Panama just announced today.

Guessing it was a "Big Artist Announcement" that was supposed to come today.

I think it's cool, Van Halen had a GH game so they haven't been on Rock Band yet

I remember that song being on my wishlists since the first Guitar Hero game came out, so much so that I even made a chart for that song once (I'm sure it's floating somewhere around YouTube). Never played the GH:VH, though.

You'll still hear me griping about the visual changes, but Rock Band is Rock Band and I'm just trying to play notes anyway.

Was on the fence about this game. I'm off it now though. Xbox one disc version will be 80 bucks because it requires an adapter to use last gen instruments.

I know we're getting most of our DLC songs back, but any word on the rock band 1/2/3 songs? Are we getting those too? I'd really like to play green grass and high tides again!

Yeah I believe they stated somewhere that the RB1 RB2 and RB Lego songs will be there as long as you exported them. (Most of the songs anyway)

RB3 is different though considering that could never have been exported

Checked back a few months and didn't see these questions mentioned, so sorry if it is a repeat.

1). Has it been confirmed that the new instruments for RB4 will be compatible with the new Guitar Hero game and vice versa? I know it was taken for granted with the previous gens, but with all, of the redesigns and new features it doesn't feel as certain this time around.

2). How are people who need 2 new guitars handling the fact that RB4 is coming out first and isn't offering a 2 guitar bundle(even though GH is two weeks later) or individual instruments at launch? I would rather not go one old(and none of my olds work well) and one new and I am also not sure I have the patience to just wait for GH(even though that would work better for my next question).

3). Does any one have a plan for getting the best credit for the physical game if you want to go digital but have to buy the physical copy to get the instruments? And in my case maybe even two physical copies and a digital to get the setup I would like to have at launch: two guitars and digital game.

Take it from someone like me. I already have two guitars and am not necessarily compelled to buy the new ones, yet I do need a new drum set because my old one won't sync anymore. I already have a mic, but if for whatever reason the new one has better weight or response time, I might see the need to go for the bundle.

If I go this route, what will I do with the guitar? Sell it individually on eBay or Craigslist for a higher price than the value provides for it. For example, say the bundle was $200 for parts of this game that can sell individually as a $60 game, $100 drum set, $50 guitar, and a $25 mic. If I sell the guitar for $50 on eBay, I consider this to be a profit on my end because I get at least $10 back (or $35 if I think the mic is worth it).

I hope that makes sense. Either way, check eBay and Craigslist immediately for people like me who might not need the guitars in the bundle, but will get everything else because it is of better value to get it all bundled if you can sell the parts you don't want.

So if I need two guitars(for my son and I to play together) then I will actually need 4; 2 for RB and 2 for GH. I was afraid of that seeing some of the differences this time around, but had a little hope since the old guitars will work with RB.

I hate buying "used" on eBay/Craig's list on these kind of things but you are correct that finding them immediately after release there should little to no use of them.

I both hate and love these periods when games are releasing like crazy but the peripherals issue is just piling on. With the "greatness" of the kinect, couldn't we just use a broom stick and have the kinect pick it up?

I pre-ordered the guitar bundle for Guitar Hero. For Rock Band 4, I haven't decided if I am just going guitar bundle or whole band set for it. I still have 3 PS3 guitars with 2 of those still working pretty well except for the whammy bars which became very loose when my son stepped on the guitars.

I still have the PS3 Guitar Hero mic which has really not been used much as I hate singing in the game. My Guitar Hero drumset is borderline garbage now.

Tough decision for me. I do enjoy drums but I play guitar and bass so much more. I definitely know I am at least getting the new guitars for each game.

Does anyone know of the freestyle guitar solos will work with a PS3 guitar hero controller? That'll be the difference if I drop $130 or $59 on this game.

Nah, just the five buttons. I know with the new freestyle you'll be promted to use the buttons on the bottom of the neck of the RB4 controller. Just wondering if we can still use it with just five buttons.

You should still be able to use just the five buttons. When I play Rock Band 3 on PS3 I use my Guitar Hero controller, and just using the five buttons on freestyle notes works fine. Rock Band 4 will be the first time I ever have a Rock Band guitar, and I would think the same goes for that too.
