Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
Just submitted my video for the Rock Band Road Crew.
In Rock Band Rivals, form your own band, rock the world, and live out your ultimate rock and roll fantasy, with your friends, family, or as a solo act.
It's basically a street team type of thing where they want you to post to social media and talk about RB to promote it. They're picking up to 500 people, and those who get picked will get a full band box before release. Doing the social posting earns "points" to redeem on their site for a variety of rewards. I'm open to social marketing if I can get a free band bundle out of it.
The video has to be between one minute and 3:30, tell why you'd be a good pick for the program, show some footage of you and friends playing, and contain the phrase "impressive solo" somewhere in it. Check more details on the terms page of the link above.
Submissions in by next Sunday. Winners informed on the 18th.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
Thanks for the reply. Think I may just buy the guitar bundle. Played rb3 for the first time in almost a year and I think it maybe time to retire my guitar hero world tour guitar. And get something more updated.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
Was planning on getting the guitar bundle too, but some financial stuff came up recently that killed my gaming budget so I honestly don't even know if I'd be getting RB4 right now unless I get accepted for their Road Crew program. I am pretty confident though. Not that my video was that good, but I don't know that 500 people are going to record a video to send so I might get in by default, lol. Obviously it's easy as hell to record yourself nowadays, but I saw a lot of comments across different places where people were put off by having to do "work".Last edited by SmashMan; 09-07-2015, 08:56 PM.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
So I was going to buy the bundle with the new guitar but I know my wife will say I'm cheating because I use the new guitar and she has to use the old one, so I figure I'll buy her a new one too....however I cannot find any options to buy either one game with two guitars or a standalone new guitar, wtf?
This is Xbox One

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
I'll backtrack from my previous statement of answering ANY question, haha. I'll answer as many as I can. Like, if there are any questions about potential scoring differences I wouldn't be able to answer those well because I play more for the songs than the scores.
But as this is Harmonix's street team marketing thing, I'm planning on posting pics or quick videos of stuff. As long as people don't mind me taking a night or so to get a feel for the menus things should be good.
My plan assuming I got in this was going to be some character creation stuff for anyone interested, just because that hasn't been touched on too much. Then probably some freestyle solo stuff to show off some cool sounds. Might stream thru PS4 if my upload speed is decent. It's been crappy for SharePlay lately, but I've never streamed thru PS4 so I don't know the minimums or anything. I'll look into it.
People could probably check out Rock Band's forums when the bundles start coming in too. I'm sure a ton of people are going to be streaming and posting stuff.Last edited by SmashMan; 09-18-2015, 07:24 PM.Comment

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
If I can get my hands on one to test it out, sure. Got rid of mine at a yard sale last year but I'll hit up some friends and see if they've got anything laying around.
This is from Harmonix's FAQ though. Might have what you're looking for?
Q: I have a guitar that only has 5 buttons on it but I’m REALLY excited to try out those Freestyle Guitar Solos. How is this going to affect my gameplay when I play Rock Band 4?
A: Fear not, rockers! Rock Band 4 will support 5-button guitars, including Freestyle Guitar Solo functionality! Because these guitars do not operate with solo buttons, the types of sounds you can create will be limited. However, the game will be able to fully recognize the guitar’s limitations and will never give you unachievable prompts during the Freestyle Guitar Solo sections. You will be scored in the same manner as those who are able to use a 10-button guitar for Freestyle Guitar Solos. Simply put, you will be able to play Freestyle Guitar Solos to the full extent that it can be played on the 5 main buttons of the guitar.Comment
