Re: Is Morrowind a good game?

Morrowind can be scarier, because the fear is generated from your own mind, based on how immersed you are in the game. It was funny, I haven't played in a while(Madden and NCAA have owed my XBOX for the last 1 1/2 months),
but the last time I played even thou I'm pretty tough and have some cool Orc armor, I actually flinched really hard when a rat snuck up on me and attacked me. After I laughed for about 20 seconds at how DEEP I was sucked into the game, I killed the rat with one hit, then I laughed some more.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Is Morrowind a good game?

I remember once my friend got a free copy of Morrowind for PC that came with his videocard. When we first installed it, we both were in awe of the graphics and especially the WATER! It looked so awesome. However, we both didn't know how to play it and I didn't really feel interested in it since it was a "rpg" and i dislike rpg's.

But after a while I heard more about the game and it's open-ended gameplay, and finally it made me want to buy it. So when I first bought my xbox in july, I bought GOTY morrowind for 20 bucks. So far it's one of the best games I've ever played EVER! And I do not like RPG's!!!!!! I guess it's the "open-ended" gameplay that attracts me the most. I like the GTA series and it's open-ended gameplay, but Morrowind almost takes it to a new level with so much vast detail and building your character up, etc.

        I love this game.

like jfsolo said, it's how deep you get into the game.

Me, personally, I get scared (not scared like I'm going to cry or piss in my pants, but I start thinking and stuff - I'm the type of person that would love to have a scary situation happen to me, so long as I live ) - anyway - I get scared being around nothing.

In Morrowind, you travel and you see water, trees, mountains, etc. and there's nothing else around you. If it's night time then it's even scarier.

Games like Silent Hill are made to purposely scare you, but that kinda stuff (monsters jumping out or flying creatures approaching you) doesn't scare me at all. I see it as part of a video game and I move on.

I guess, I make Morrowind true to life for myself and that's what freaks me out when I'm walking around.

I chose a Nord as well. He kinda looks like a black-haired Legolas from Lord of the Rings (I love the movies, what can I say?)

I'm a Dumner Redguard. The elf looking ppl.

And to go off what you were saying YankeePride, I could'nt agree with you more about the fear factor when walking around all alone in the forest or whatever. I also get that immersed in the game. It gets real scary at night, especially when you hear things howling and growling about. But the scariest by far is walking into a cave or tomb. Sometimes its ghost, sometimes its ppl, but you never know how powerfull they may be.
