XBL aware is so you can still talk to your buddies when you are playing the game.

From what I know it has nothing to do with the actual game.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Re: What's this? No discussion on FABLE!?

How are you guys feeling bout Fable after a few days??

I cant help but compare this game to Morrowind since that is what I was looking for when I got the game. I think its fun but its no Morrowind. You have to see the game for what it is but you cant help but wonder what it could have been.

I still have my main gripe about the games simplicity. Its just simple. Plus the game is feeling more and more linear the more I play. I dont even like to travel much in this game because every road feels so damn restricted. Every map I've seen so far is like 1 or 2 roads with a few forks stuck in between them.....

I donno though, even though I never fell for the hype this game had built, I cant help but to feel underwhelmed while playing this game. I'm actually looking fowards to continuing my quest in Dues Ex than continuing the quest in Fable. I already have a feeling that the next time I play this game, it'll be with my buddy and we can take turns at seeing who can be the most evil like we do with GTA.

I think comparing it to Morrowind isn't a good idea...Fable's just a different game, I don't think it was meant to be quite as open as Morrowind. Until I get more into Fable though I can't really pass any judgements...It hasn't sucked me like I'd hope though. I enjoy playing, but some games make you really really want to play. Fable hasn't done that yet.

City of Heroes released a update last night, so I was back on that for a while and didn't get a chance to play Fable. I'll play it more over the weekend.

Yeah - Morrowind is a bad comparision.

I think calling it an Xbox Zelda is much more accurate.

I love it - I love the style, the music, the "feel".

SAme boat as Mgo for me. It just has not sucked me in. The nafter playing CoH last night I and having a great time I am not sure when my next Fable session will be.

I think Zelda might be a good comparison but they are not on the same level IMO. Zelda's quests are a lot better IMO. They offer a challenge with a good puzzle aspect to them. So IMO if compared to the Zelda series it gets destroyed in everything except the character development because Zelda has none

Same as the others.....the game has'nt really sucked me in....yet. It did'nt take much to rip me off the game last night. I got simply tired of playing which I have'nt done in a while and thats a bad sign from me. But like MGo said, I cant really pass judgment on it this early. I've only played 4 hours or so. But one thing that really bothers me is everyone that says this game is short. I know you can choose not to do the quest so the storyline does'nt progress but I'd rather have the option to accpet the quest and do it when I feel like it instead of excepting the quest and being place right where you're sopposed to go. With the method they use, it seems as if you're forced to play around in the sandbox in order to get the most out of the game instead of having the option.

I do enjoy killing things though. I just wished that the citizens at least fought back and did'nt cower down. Thats the thing I liked about Morrowind. No matter how weak a NPC will look, he wont back down from a fight and that forces you to take caution with NPCs because you never know how powerfull he can be. In Fable, the NPCs are just crash test dummies and I can do whaterver I want with them until the guards come.

My friend said that this reminds him more of Zelda than anything. I've never personally played Zelda so I would'nt know. I need to watch him play his file in Fable to maybe get me excited to play. Its always fun to play a game like this when ppl are watching.

Yea, I can understand the frustration.

I think the game is very good, but it definitely leaves a lot to desire. The Zelda comparison is a nice one, but a little unfair as well. Fable seems to be strictly action-adventure while Zelda is more of an action-strategy. In Zelda I loved the dungeons because you knew that there was gonna be something to figure out and no matter how easy something might have been it was still a challenge to achieve the goal. I can still play Zelda: A Link To The Past (SNES) right now and enjoy the game. It's still the only game that I played and beat over and over again because of how enjoyable it was to simply play. Fable doesn't seem to have that sort of grasp on me...not yet, at least.

Does it leave me not wanting to play the game? No. I'm actually enjoying it, but I do feel at times like there is more that I want from the game. The towns are beautifully done, but they seem empty. I don't know how to explain it.

Anyway, I'm enjoying the game, but it really isn't anything like Morrowind or Zelda or even KOTOR. It's really the first FABLE, in my opinion.
