I've just finished my training and am starting my career as a hero. I can tell I will like this game a lot. Will it be my favorite game ever? Naah, I doubt it. The main problem with Fable is the unrelenting HYPE the game got. If I had never heard of the game when I started playing it last night I would have been saying "DAMMMN look at what you can do in this game, this game is TIGHT." Instead I'm like, "thats pretty cool"

I played a lot while watching football today, and ended up playing for over 6 or 7 hours...didn't have anything going on tonight (friends were being lame), and just played through the LSU, ND, and USC games...The storyline does really grip you (at least I started to care a bit), and the attacking control doesn't seem bad after a while....The game is a bit short though, if you don't do a lot of side quests, demon doors, silver keys, etc...

I had 3 wives, and kept cracking up during the 'sex' scenes...definitely not a main point in the game, but has a good novelty factor.

I want to run it as an evil guy (was good, always start out good for some reason) and just kill people a lot.

One thing I realized, I've gotta look into the magic a bit more, I had one main power I loved (multi strike I think it was called), where you load your sword up, hit the guy, and it counts for 2,3,4, or 5 blows (depending on the level of the magic)...Fireballs and lightning didn't do much for me, but I suppose I never gave them much of a chance. I just had fun trying different weapons, and hacking and slashing...The decaptiation animations are pretty cool.

I agree I'm getting more and more into it. Not the best RPG I've ever played, but very good. As for magic, blue I'd recommend Berserk. It is awesome, knocks everybody down and makes you unblockable with massive damage.

How many people have been to the Arena? I thought that was VERY cool. I'm also playing as good cuz I usually am evil, but this seems to make it more challenging. All in all a very solid effort, although not what was once promised.

I'm hearing 'BC' is going to be more 'in depth', from the same studio. Next year I think it comes out.

I was at the arena last night, and it took me about an hour to complete it, but it was worth it. I'm trying to balance my range and melee weapons a bit. The magic I use most is the push and heal. Also, if you're having trouble with the Balverines or Undead, I would recommend using some agmentations on a greataxe, usually takes two or three hits to kill them.

Re: What's this? No discussion on FABLE!?

Meh....I took it back. I must have fell for the hype because I could'nt get into the game for the life of me. I played about 4:30 hours total gametime and I was'nt into the story yet. I found the extras like getting married and owning houses quite tedious.

I got sick of giving chicks gifts and going "Heyyy" all day so I'd just give the ladies the finger, get them pissy drunk and kill em. Sometimes I'd stab them a few times then immediately give them a gift and they'd return back to normal. (But she would'nt go all the way) It was fun while it lasted but is it me, or does getting married and having sex in this game seem pointless. It just seems to add a statistic and thats about it.

Well obviously this was'nt the game for me. My friend was kinda mad when I decided to take it back cause he enjoyed it but it was to many glaring gripes I had with the core gameplay. One was although I enjoyed the combat, its not enough variety of enemies nor weapons to truly satisfy me. All it is, is that they present the exact same enemy to you but increases his power when he changes colors and although many other games do that, (Quite often btw) I read how many enemies are in the game via gamefaqs and its simply too small a number to really get any enjoyment out of combat. I need change, I need hundreds of weapons and dozens of classes of enemies.

Second was the size of the world. Man oh man, I probably would of kept the game if the size of each map was at least the size of the cities that are in the world. Way to linear for my taste. I get no enjoyment traveling across a map only for it to be divided into sections with a loading screen between each. The loading screen is kinda what makes the game feel so limited and linear.

And lastly, where is the immersivness? Only options you have in each town is getting married, buying a house for money, doing side quest, getting drunk, playing card games(which were all real card games with fiction names) and going on a complete evil killing spree. I need more to do, more ppl to talk to and more quest within each town. You can only truly live out so many scenarios in this game. And from town to town, nothing really changes. Just diffrent ppl and side quest.

Maybe I missed something. I donno? I must have fell for the hype for this game because what I thought this game was gonna be turned out to be something completly diffrent. So with that said, I hope most of you are enjoying the game. It just was'nt my cup of tea.

Graphik, sounds like you need Morrowind type games with complete and utter freedom, that's just your type of game. I'll have to give the next Morrowind a try, the controls annoyed me too much on the first one.

Played Fable a lot more yesterday while watching NFL games...Went with a evil char this time, not a lot different, other than looks, but I'm doing all the quests I can, am hitting more demon doors, etc.

I think it's a good game, fighting can be a bit easy. It's either waves and waves of guys that aren't hard to beat, or a boss that's not too tough. I guess the bigger issue is that you get more than enough money after a little while to fully stock up on Health Potions and Will potions, along with Rez vials, so I never worried about dying ever.

The game is also pretty short. I'm doing most of the side quests my 2nd time through, but I'm not gonna go around and collect all keys, armor, weapons, stuff like that. I'm not that type of gamer, I don't feel the need to beat a game 100%, and it's just not fun to me to be running around just to get a stupid weapon. I guess that might be why I didn't quite get into Morrowind as well, I suppose my type of RPG has a bit more structure, though I wish Fable was a lot longer. KOTOR took a pretty long time to complete (if I remember right), but you can really knock out Fable fast if you really wanted to (skipping a lot of stuff).

KOTOR took a pretty long time to complete (if I remember right), but you can really knock out Fable fast if you really wanted to (skipping a lot of stuff).

some are comparing this to a legend of zelda ,and i would have to disagree with this. The zelda games are bigger, and have a richer and deeper world within each game ( even mayora's mask). The are linear but the gameworld gives you more freedom than fable. I just cant get into fable.

I dont mind restriction, but then give me a good story to pull me in. A reviewer mentioned that the story for def jam:fight for new york is better than fable. I know this is just someones opinion, but the fact that it was mentioned(and someone thought about it) confirms my belief that the story is not all that great.

I actually enjoyed ffX even though some felt it was linear, because the world was so big and the story brought you in. For some reason i didnt get that with FF VII though. heh
