This is one of those "dream games" for me...always wanted something akin to DayZ/Rust with dinos and prehistoric creatures.

Needless to say, you can take my $$$ now....

Game looks great. Thought of Far Cry 3 with dinosaurs while watching.

I'm just hoping that PS+ isn't required to play single player. Too many games concentrate on all this multi-player and co-op crap. UGH. That stuff is fine but should have a single player campaign. And reading a Q&A, it says that you can customize your character which makes no sense since it's in first person. Will definitely keep an eye on this game.

A lot of games let you customize your character even though it's in a first person perspective.

Sucks to wait a year for the console version, but this sounds awesome....

Some recently revealed details about multi-player gameplay, base building, crafting, leveling... This is in my 2016 plans for sure. Also remember, it's a recently identified Morpheus launch release for those that may be thinking down the road.

It makes perfect sense. Everyone playing sees your character. Borderlands, dying light and many fps games let you change your look.

Polygon spent the first hour in the world of Ark: Survival Evolved. Basically Beta Early Access from Steam. Not sure how I feel about it after watching it, especially the hunting scene around 59:30 mark. They do encounter a dinosaur towards the end of the video but it all looked underwhelming to me. Hopefully improvements are made but this just went to wait and see for me next year.

$35 for basic beta access... Any idea if this goes towards actual release? Or will I have to work out 60 more?

You won't have to purchase it again. You get it at a discounted price now for supporting/testing the game out. Prices will rise when it gets closer to being finished, but you will never have to fork over anything else.
