Everytime I play this game I get eaten by a giant snake 15 minutes in.



Looking forward to playing it at a LAN this weekend with friends though.

Spawn in the south areas when starting out. You don't stand a chance in the swamp area until you are leveled up a bit.

Agreed. Lots of graphical, ui, and gameplay need some improvement.

But at its core, I think they've nailed the concept.

Im just worried there were too ambitious. The lag you experience once a server is built up with these huge structures is really bad. If they can't fix that I see no way this isn't hammered on release. Which sucks because even in its current state it's one if the better games ive ever played.

I might try picking it up on Xbox, are there usually a lot of people on or kind of scarce?

It's jam packed. Right now they don't even have enough servers to handle the demand. It's gotten better over the past week though. When the game first launched it was a 30 minute process just to get in the server you chose. Keep in mind you always need to play on the same server to continue that survivors progress too.

I booted up the game streaming to my laptop to try and join a server while watching a movie. Got in after 30 minutes and got kicked a second later. It took another hour and a half just to get back into the server. There are some days that I give up after an hour and it usually takes 4-5 hours (while taking breaks) to actually get in.

It never takes me more than 20 minutes. The last week ive gotten in after a few tries most times. It was brutal when it first launched though.

If anyone is interested I am hosting my own server. It's running really good and the island looks amazing when you eliminate the trolling with foundations. If you have played on an official server you will notice the difference immediately. It's running 24/7. Taming is also 6x faster and I have xp bumped up temporarily.

There is absolutely no lag at all.

It looks a lot like '7 Days' meets a world of Far Cry Primal....

I am watching a stream of someone playing on PS4 (it looks like it's finally out on console).

Yeah it just launched on PS4 today. I've been playing on Xbox non stop since launch a year or so ago. It's a great game. Better if you have a group of people to work with. It's early access though so it it's not issue free since they are constantly adding content and with content comes bugs.

Yeah, i'm not sure if it's quite the game for me for single player, but i'm always tempted

You can play single player. It's still fun. Will just take longer to get going and be more of a challenge.

I have been watching a ton of videos on this title and I really think I might bite on this one. It kind of looks like it would scratch that itch I was looking for No Mans Sky to fill. Just kind of exploring and survival with some apparently really neat crafting elements. I would probably only play the single player the most but to me this does look like a lot of fun.
