So is this game playable now on Xbox One? All your impressions sound really interesting.

I've been playing this game on Xbox one since launch a year or so ago. It's never been unplayable.

It is still not fully finished. It will be come spring time this year, but it is available on the stores online and is very fun.

What kind of settings do you guys play with? For the server I set up for my buddy and I, I tinkered with the settings to make it much more challenging. Dino's do 2-3x as much damage as well as our resistance is 2-3x less. Health regeneration is like 3-4x slower, though I may make it even slower, it still heals pretty quickly. I may have even gone the wrong way with that slider. Resources have more health, produce a little less per hit, but overall you'll get more from them than on default, but your tools are going to wear more per tree, rock, etc.

We're just looking for a nice challenge that provides tense situations. When we first played this a long time ago on default-ish settings you could be pretty risky and take on some dinosaurs like a super hero. Now with our settings a level 12 triceratops just one hit my buddy when it randomly aggro'd towards him. I fought the tiny little raptors that spit the poison out and lost half my health and had to spend the rest of that day(in game, which I made 2-3x longer) at the base healing and gathering resources.

I'm just curious as to other's settings and the way they enjoy playing the game. If anyone else plays similar to how we do, I'd like to hear what you've modified. I've still got plenty to tinker and balance.

Is the preview version that is free in the Xbox Store the same as $34.99 version? Been watching a lot of Twitch feeds and this game looks interesting. Thanks in advance

Think there is just an hour trial for free. An hour is nothing with this game though. Can't scratch the surface at all in that time span.

Damn, that scorched earth pvp was good while it lasted. It was peaceful for just over a month until last night. It was a huge war with 2 big tribes mainly and the regulars choosing sides.

It all started when I got attacked by one of the tribes while at a drop myself, he picked me up with his bird and dropped me to his friends with wolves just below the cliff. Of course, my friends and I retaliated, killed them off their bird and the bird himself. We knew where their main base was located, but it was guarded with loads of turrets. We decided to blow open the behemoth gate nearby, and we found their whole egg farm. I rocketed so many damn scorpions, stegos, rex, mantis, and quetzals. There was even a giga on passive sitting inside. We uploaded our important tames and blueprints and looking to move servers. I think it was a win, I lost an argy and a wolf in return for at least 30-40 of their tames.

I don't even know why they attacked me. The 2 top tribes were trash talking each other I wasn't allied with any and kept to myself. Again, like the other server on the center, they probably did not realize I had the capability to deal that much damage as a small tribe. That whole situation earned me an alliance with the other tribe in the war so I've got guys on call with multiple wyverns to help out. I might not even have to switch servers depending on who ends up winning the war.

This game is finally going to be released to the general public on Aug 8. It has a full-fledge AAA price as well as an explorer edition that's even more costly. The memory loss issue recently discovered has been patched for the xbox edition. PS4 will get the port over.

Four different developers have had their hands on it. There were lots of promises, some kept, some not. Wondering how is the general feeling from those still playing it. Does it have legs? Are you still enjoying it? Is it FP and 3P?

It's still broke. I highly doubt it's released on the 8th. People's dedicated servers still won't start up. Which they are saying is due to memory loss so that isn't even fixed.
