So excited for this. Never appreciated From Soft games until I dove head first into Bloodborne, and that's arguably one of my top 5 games of all time now. I played DS2 a bit when it came out, but gave up a few hours in.

Can't wait to actually give the Souls series a real shot with this.

Will always love From's environment design. The bosses they have shown seem more varied and interesting than DS2's "guy in armor" fights they threw at you a bunch. Hyped.

The thing about the Souls series is you have to prepare yourself for doing the same runs a lot until you get them right. It can be very challenging and honestly can sometimes cause you to put the game down for a while out of frustration.

I was having serious trouble around the middle part of DS2 and I finally started the game over as a sorcerer and it helped me immensely. I'm not saying that is the best character to choose but play style is incredibly important in this game.

It looks like a similar engine to the prior games so you may want to do some research on different builds so you can figure out what is optimal for your play style.

It's in Japanese, but they're talking about a new rolling mechanic. Not sure if it's class based or not.

Game play almost reminds me more of Bloodborne than the DS series, especially the enemies' movement.

Previews look good, but if I buy I'm going to have to make myself not watch any walkthroughs or tutorials and play through by myself. My first Souls game was 2, and I watched too many and ended up not really playing the game myself and basically following tutorials. With Bloodborne, I didn't watch any, save a few videos with boss tips and beat the game, and it was a much better experience.

Well I caved and watched a couple of the more recent videos. VaatiVidya and Oroboros have some fantastic videos on Youtube showing 45 minutes of footage. From what I saw, this game is going to be absolutely amazing. As I said earlier in the thread, this is my first real "Souls" experience other than Bloodborne, which was such a freakin breath of fresh air for me personally. I played through BB up to NG++ and loved every second.

Anyways, fair warning, if anyone does watch, the videos are INCREDIBLY spoilery. I had already had the first few bosses spoiled on accident while researching the game, so it didn't really bother me. Vaati's videos in particular were very interesting, as he spends less time discussing game mechanics and gear and more time dissecting all of the lore and how it connects to the other Souls games. This led to me looking up other Souls lore videos, and now I'm ten times more excited.

Thank god for the Division coming out in 2 days. Otherwise I'd probably go mad with hype.
