It's worth exploring. I don't want to give spoilers but some awesome loot is on this level if you kill the Pre-Bosses.

I haven't found many large titanite shards yet, but I'm sure I'm reaching that part of the game where they come regularly. Titanite shards on the other hand, they come in bunches now. I can even buy an unlimited amount at the fire link shrine for 800 a piece. It's given me the freedom to try out many weapons at +3

If you have a strength build, I don't suggest infusing the butcher knife with a fire gem. That removes all strength scaling from the weapon and makes your strength investment pointless.

Actually I don't think you can infuse the knife at all, you can only reinforce it

Ok thanks. That helps. I think I will grab that knife and plus 3 it like you are saying. I do notice a lot of Titanite shards. Heck, we can farm them off even low level enemies.

The knife would be a blast.

Question for some of you veteran players. How do you equip "Fireball" without pausing?? By the time I select it goons are already on me. Thanks in advance.

Started with a sorcerer as I usually do to start. Had a mail breaker and party shield to start too...and I've been using that more than the spells. Once I find a good sword which I can upgrade to the magic path I'll be set.
I like the uchi, as I'm using it on my other character dual weilder as a backup weapon, but I gotta pump 3 or 4 levels to strength to use it on my sorcerer. Meh

So after hours of linearity, it seems I finally have two paths to take.

For a caster build which way should I go first, Cathedral of the Deep or Farron Keep? I'm level 28. Which way is easier, and which way has more goodies.

Go to your Equipment menu and make it one of your choices that is mapped to the bottom button (estus flask button).

I have those and throwing knives as well. I lock on to the enemy as well and then hit X to throw.

Also, if you hold the down button it will automatically go to your estus flask. So if you are stuck in a battle, selected firebombs and need to heal, just hold the button down.

If you are talking actual fireballs - that is pyro and I map that to my weapon hand and then of course attune it in a bonfire.

                  Worked like a charm. Thanks

Currently I'm a Level 26 Knight and all I can say is this game is freakin awesome. I can't even play The Show and I'm neglecting The Division. Haven't played Q-Break since I've grabbed this game.

Go cathedral. I missed that area and went ahead the other way. You eventually hit a wall needing a certain item to pass. I'm assuming it's there as I had just discovered it after back tracking areas for an hour.

                        Unfortunately,
I went to the swamp first after I got the **** backstabbed out of me at the other place. I found a boss (miniboss i beat) I think, but I'm stuck at that big stone door. I extinguished two of the flames but I have no idea where the third is.

Under equipment, change the items around in the consumables section

I suggest getting to high ground and just look up at the sky. Try and locate the last tower that way

Found it, Thanks. This boss' second phase is wrecking my sh.

I staryed summoning phantoms on this boss, and they have been horrendous. I've had a phantom make it to stage two with me only once in about 5 tries.

I have put in 10 hours and at level 28 but have beaten just two bosses. And I am loving it

Right now I am getting close to boss 3
