HAHA...My first time playing yesterday I created a warrior class and died a few times to him but did not like the warrior class so in the back of my mind I knew today I would start all over with Knight. But I knew about glitching hunters in bloodborne so I took him to the edge and we both died but as you said the win is yours when you spawn. Today I went at him straight up and kept dying and dying but realized that I had to stop waiting for him to make the move as he was parrying me like crazy and killing me. So I decided to just run at him and hit him a lot while he was in his normal stance. I got him quick and got real happy. 2 hours in and that has been my only progress. LOL

Re: Dark Souls III
Made it through the wall area. Ended up getting dex up 6 levels and strength up 1 just to use the uchi. I'll prolly use that as my weapon for most of the game til I get something awesome that scales with magic/faith. Also got a 100% physical block shield that I can wield at 11 strength already so now I don't need to put anything else into strength.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
I played for a few hours tonight and I love it. I am happy to see that the the frame rate so far has been fine and just as good as Bloodborne. Beat the first boss on the first try and played some of the second level (high wall of lothric). I tried to beat the naked katana guy around the side of the firelink shrine, but he whipped me about 5 times. I may have to do the cliff-side lure, lol.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
With the uchugitana guy, I found that baiting him into a thrust attack and then punishing him was the best way. If he goes into his parry stance, just lure him into taking a swing until he is back in his normal stance.
Took 2 tries, but I managed to kill him using that strategy.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
Played for about 1.5 hours last night. I was quite rusty, took me about 7 or 8 tries to beat the initial boss. Beat the uchugitana guy by blocking him off the cliff. Turned it off after that. Looking forward to playing more.
Hard to devote time to this with the Destiny and Division DLCs on the same day.Comment

Got to the second level bridge thing and that section is tough so left it there after I failed a few timesComment

Re: Dark Souls III
I'm a complete dark souls noob. Never played before.
I got to play for about an hour this morning. I couldn't beat that Ice dragon thing or the big guy. Got very close on the dragon.
How do I know which I should be fighting first?
Are there things I should be using during my big fights besides the health potion?
What are all these blood stains? Other people's death spots?
I need help people!! YOU HAVE DIED!!! Over and over.
Ok, so the way to beat this guy and the boss is patience. The game is teaching you how to play it properly with these two guys.
Dragon guy - let him charge you and then roll into him ( I think I rolled into his right, I forget), and get behind him. Take two big swipes on him and then back off and bait him into charging. Rinse and repeat. Don't get greedy and try for 3 hits..you will run out of stamina and not be able to roll evade.
Boss - Same concept really.
You can parry both guys as well. I'd strongly suggest using that guy as your warmup for the boss. The boss fight will go a lot easier after defeating him.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
Got through the Crystal Sage boss. Rocking the fallen knight armor (reminds me of Kylo Ren but with a knight helmet). It's a little less defense, but it allows my claymore and shield equipped knight to medium roll instead of fat roll.
Just need to get to 24 strength now. Got the Exile curved greatsword from the watchers outside of Farron Keep. Just 2 strength away.
This is already my GOTY, no doubts.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
I'm 8 hours in and have killed about 7 bosses now. I can't commit to one weapon just yet. Every time I get used to one, I find another and start upgrading that. As of right now, I'm rotating between a +4 zweihander, +5 butcher knife, and a +3 claymore. I love the movesets for all these weapons and can't settle on one.Comment

But yeah, my claymore has carried me through a lot of the game. I really like the Irithyll straight sword as well, but the claymore is just so much more useful. Still haven't found the zweihander.Comment

Dark Souls III
8 hours and that many bosses? Holy crap man. I'm at 10 hours and just hitting Farron Keep, so I believe I'm through 4 bosses and right at the 5th.

Yeah none of the bosses have really given me any problems yet. An hour of that was spent being lost at one point because I missed a doorway after beating a boss. I thought it was a deadend and eventually found it after backtracking multiple areas.
Also I have played the game early a week ago and got up to the first lords of cinder solo, so I knew where to go and what to expect.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
Best the first boss last night. I'm a Dex build right now but may switch it up to quality build so I can use the claymore. I also have much better luck using a shield and sword combo rather than two handing. Decisions.....

Re: Dark Souls III
The Claymore is awesome. I highly recommend the Astora straight sword though. It's found on the same level, just a little further deep into it. I am crushing with it at Raw plus 3.Comment
