Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands
If you're asking if my post is true,
"Ubisoft has plans for competitive multiplayer as well, but is saving the details for a later date."
Ubisoft shared lots of conceptual details that have us excited, but the Wildlands also has some rough edges that need to be worked out.

Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands
Like on Far Cry, if you eliminate everyone I would have control of that outpost... Which leads to opening of side missions, etc.

Not as boring as far cry thoughComment

Ghost Recon Wildlands brings back my Ubisoft formula that I know and love from previous Ubisoft games. Can't wait!!!Comment

Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands
And what's up with all the the cheesy icons/helpers ? (ones revealing the enemies positions and ones showing you what direction your getting shot at from)
....in a so called tactical shooter ?Comment

Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands
Most games today do hand holding
Even with real life enemy markers they aren't as elaborate in the game
That said there will never be another original ghost recon
Some things will never be Like it used to be
That said this game will be its own fun.
There are still plenty of ghost recon elements to enjoyComment

Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands
AC/FC do have options that allow you to turn OFF pretty much everything that appears on the map.
I wish EVERY open world game did the following -
1) Allow you to do something that makes everything appear on your mini-map and full map.
2) Allow you the option to turn on/off all of those icons for the mini-map AND full map separately.
This would allow you to play either way you want simply by turning on/off all the icons.
What can I say besides that's how I prefer my open world games. Having to look for every single item/collectable does not excite me at all simply because I don't have the patience to walk/drive/run down every street, alleyway, dirt path, etc. for every item to appear on the map. Just no no no for me.
I also love going district/region by district/region and clearing each one out 100% before moving on to the next one. Reason I do this is because I always complete open world games 100%. Very rare do I not do this so for me, need to have everything shown on the map. I put over 300 hours into The Witcher III with everything on the map except for the random quests so imagine how long that game would take me if it didn't have the icons on the map?
I also clear out everything because once I complete the story, the game is done. Unlike most who play through the story and go back to complete the rest of the game, I never ever do that. Once the story is finished, the game is finished so unless some item, quest, collectable, etc. is a huge pain to get, I always finish the game with 100% completion as im finishing the story.
As for the icons/helpers, that's in nearly every open world game but im pretty sure that you can turn that stuff off in the options menu ala AC/FC.
I played Ghost Recon Future Soldier and hated it. Simply wasn't for me. Ghost Recon Wildlands gives me all the stuff I prefer in my Ubisoft open world games and that's a good thing because considering how huge this game is, imagine how long it would take to find and complete everything? Especially for me since I go for 100% completion.
As for being a "tactical shooter", there's no actual cover system in the game which is the only negative I have against the game. Why they just didn't copy the cover system from The Division is beyond me but nevertheless, im still pumped and can't wait to play the game.Comment
