Did Gears 1 have a Horde mode? I only really played 3 and enjoyed it there.

No it didn't but I just figured they would add it. It's the best part of gears online play imo. Seems like a missed opportunity.

I don't game online all that often, but always played the heck out of Gears over the years. Good to see online gaming hasn't changed at all. All it took was a handle full of matches to recieve two racial and homophobic messages in my inbox.

Edit - Was screen grab sharing disabled for the beta? I recieve an error when attempting to share via Twitter.

Playing this beta yesterday brought back some damn memories.

Played this game so much when it first released online.

Almost as much as SOCOM 2 when that came out

Loving the beta thus far, I just need to get more consistent. Generally the first match of the day I go on a run. Then after that I fall into the pits for quite a few rounds. The one thing I hate about playing with randoms though is that nobody seems to understand that Gears is not an individual game, it's about teamwork and being in a squad. Why don't people spot enemies when they are behind you when they are looking at them? I always spot enemies.

So the game brings back a lot of great memories but also frustrations of randoms. Can't wait for official release to play with friends.

LOL, I doubt that. I think most communities are pretty equal with this unfortunately. I've received just as many in online Madden games vs randoms. Of course I don't get on the mic and if I get a message I sent it straight to Xbox Live support.

I wish I could get codes for this. I was a huge Gears head from 1-3. Supposedly picking up my Xbox One today. Ah well.

I signed up yesterday and received my codes. I have to replace my ps4 first before grabbing a One, so if you can't get your codes I'll send you mine.

I played this a little bit more last night. The netcode/servers are very impressive. I'm guessing these are the Azure servers that were used for Titanfall, it runs about as good as you can hope for an online game.

If these servers can make Unreal engine games run great online, they're really top of the line. Unreal games ALWAYS run bad P2P.

My connection to the East US dedicated server was 30 ms. If I wanted to have the high latency CoD experience I'd have to play on the Asian servers. LOL

Anyone have any recommendations for x/y axis turn speed or sensitivity(If this is an option)? I feel so slow out there on the battlefield. Any oyher tips?

Check out artic videos on YouTube for tips, as far as sensitivity it's all personal preference, play around with the settings and see what suits you best.

I normally play 28, 25, 17, as I wall bounce a lot, and lone wolf flank for my squad. If your a support player that sits back and Lancer /hammer burst you might want to stay lower than the above.
