Re: Mafia 3
Maybe so. I've been kind of methodical in my approach. That's how I tend to play many of my shooters.Comment

Re: Mafia 3
Dumb ai doesn't bother me that much its always fun killing even if its because of dumb ai. Also even though the ai isnt the best doesn't mean that it's not challenging, Ive died plenty of times on hard difficulty.
Im happy to hear that their isnt much to do outside the main story missions, one of the reasons I haven't beat GTA V yet is because just too many side distractions and tedious missions, at this point in my life I dont have time to put 60+ hours in a game, I rather have a good linear experience like Tomb Raider or a Uncharted, looking forward to GoW4 on Tuesday.
My biggest gripe is the graphics, they look OK at times and just plain bad at times probably more bad than good, do you think they will patch in graphical upgrades in the future? I know its been done for other games.
Overall still enjoying the game, just wish it looked better.
Oh and I dislike that theirs not enough climbable spots, sometimes when you're in the water and you try to climb up somewhere, you can't even if the spot is not even that high.Last edited by Americas Team; 10-10-2016, 03:18 AM.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

Re: Mafia 3
I think I will wait for a price drop. The story and voice acting seem top notch from some vids I have watched but the game has a lot of issues in other areas. I also was not aware that this was Hanger 13's (the developers of the game) first game, so maybe that is why the game is suffering in certain areas. Although that does not excuse shipping a game in the state it was. I think it probably should have been pushed back, because it definitely was not ready for retail.Comment

Re: Mafia 3
I think AI in open world games is generally soft or dumb anyway with some notable exceptions so I never go into an open world game expecting anything challenging even on the highest difficulty. Typically if you're thoughtful and logical with your approaches most missions should be fairly easy. Still, there are some weird/hilarious moments already early on. I did die 3 or 4 times on the first encounter with the police, though.
The "weirdest" thing to me is just how different the game looks while driving. Knowing they tied the framerate to the cars I'm wondering what else they did. The weather changes and daylight rotation speeds up noticeably while driving. While on the foot the game is great.
I feel like this game just missed its true potential. For every great thing there seems to be some slight drawback. Whether or not you can overlook its flaws and enjoy it will depend on the gamer, but I'm having a blast so far.

Re: Mafia 3
So i just found out that there's actually 5 endings. I managed to do three of them before choosing the one I actually wanted to go with. All I will say is that preacher irritates me no matter what ending you pick lol.
I honestly don't know how many hours I put into the game, but it really doesn't seem that long. I spent a nice amount of time trying to gather magazines, gather record covers, doing side missions for my underbosses & breaking into those junction boxes or whatever they're called.
You can easily rush through the missions by running & gunning with Vitos goons beside you. The side missions take longer because they will have you driving from one side of the map to the other then back where you started. (For example: some of Cassandras side missions you have to meet her at her HQ, drive all the way down to the bayou, steal a truck full of guns, take them to one of her rackets, then go back and talk to her.)Last edited by goledensilence; 10-10-2016, 08:49 AM.Thee I Love

Re: Mafia 3
Had to clear out one of the boss's warehouses last night. Big warehouse, full of enforcers and sentries. I literally stood in the bathroom, whistled ONCE and 40 enemy AI kept coming to the bathroom 1 by 1. I kept stabbing them in the throat. They all kept saying, I think I'll check over there. AI basically behave like dumb lemmings. They can see bodies on the floor and they will still walk over there without a care in the world to their own death.
Bodies piled up so high in the bathroom they started to stack up all over that bathroom floor. So after 5 minutes of standing there, I cleared out all the boss's enforcers and guards by standing in the bathroom. Even the ones from the second floor walked down the stairs all the way across the warehouse, which is pretty damn big to come my bathroom in the corner.
With everybody dead but the boss. I walked up the stairs, down the very long walk way, walked behind the boss and strangled him into submission. Didn't even fire a shot at all.Comment

Re: Mafia 3
Might crack mine open tonight. I've played tons of games that had issues and still had fun. As long as I get some enjoyment then that's all that matters. 32 for the deluxe edition makes it easier to keep lolJoshua:

Chill with the agenda, Big Cee. I'd hate to see you no longer around the MMA forums. Nothing wrong with discussing your displeasure for a game, but after a while it becomes trolling. Just move on to another thread, man.Comment
