How is the A.I. guys? What difficulty level are you guys playing on?EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure. -

I'm playing on normal. The A.I. for me the jury is still out. The biggest negative for me is if I miss a shot when sniping it seems a mortar strike is called in on me at my location. How the hell The A.I. knew my location has yet to be determined but they know.

Re: Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. Will this be the version that they hit out of the park?
Playing on hard mode mainly because I didn't want any regenerating health. A decent amount of options available after the prologue which includes aim assist and tagging of enemies. Trying to get better at sniping. I'm okay but if I miss a headshot, it's pretty much a guarantee that I'll die. Overall, im definitely leaning towards CAMP in regards to the game being around a 7 or so.
Technically, the game would have to completely screw me over and over with freezes, crashes, bugs, glitches, etc. Thus far, through at least five hours of gameplay, I fell through the world once. No pausing (ala Homefront) whatsoever during gameplay and thankfully, all the voice acting has been fully intact.
Definitely enjoying SGW3 thus far but I will say this - if you've played Ghost Recon Wildlands already, you might not be feeling it as much as I am and while the game is definitely giving me a poor man's Far Cry type feel, it's more slow paced and methodical. As of right now, I can definitely see myself playing through this game to 100% completion. Hope it stays that way.
EDIT:
Regarding loading, the initial loading screen that does in fact load up the entire map took 2 minutes and 30 seconds but I do have the Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD. When dying or fast traveling, I think the most has been less than 30 seconds but I didn't stopwatch this. I only stop watched the initial load since CAMP game me the idea. LOL.Last edited by daniel77733; 04-24-2017, 07:49 PM.Comment

Re: Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. Will this be the version that they hit out of the park?
I'm about 11 1/2 hours into the game in basically one day. LOL. I have played through four main story missions, two side ops (which unlock early on in the story) and two wanted people (which also unlocks early on when doing the first side op).
Game is completely a poor man's Far Cry but with more of an emphasis on sniping. There's no hunting or skinning of animals, however, there are wolves in the game that can be shot and killed. You can also search them for a resource material that damn it, I can't remember the name of the material. Oh well.
Game looks very good, music, sound is also good for me. Voice acting has been 100% intact thus far and while not great it's decent and im definitely paying attention when they characters are talking.
Story and characters is pretty basic and you could say generic but I like the protagonist and im into it all thus far.
Gameplay is good but there are problems. The constant loading in of enemies and environmental textures is easily visible and apparent. I'm guessing that this has to do with the entire map being loaded on the initial loading screen when starting the main game. Also, if your distance is too much, the enemies and markings disappear only to "pop" back in when you get closer.
I'm decent at sniping but not great so me being a very far distance away is rare so this has been more of a problem while im actually walking around getting into a good sniping position.
Gunplay is good but like Homefront, there's no aiming reticle which I hate but you'll unlock a "laser sight" attachment which is good but for some odd reason, the light isn't fully solid all the way to the intended target depending on how you're aiming. If the light was solid, it would basically be like RE4 but in first person. Outside of Homefront, I can't think of any other game that doesn't have an aiming reticle that I have played which is why I used RE4 as the example.
One thing that is definitely cool is that while you can swap weapons from enemies after you kill them and they drop the weapon is that instead of swapping, you also have the option to gather the materials from the weapons instead of picking them up/swapping them. I must admit that I like this a lot.
Now the main problems...technical. Frame rate has been good for me on PS4 Pro. Visually, outside of that "pop in" that I mentioned, haven't really had any problems in this area. 4K HDR, game looks good. No screen tearing either.
The main problem is just the bugs/glitches. Thus far, in 11 1/2 hours of gameplay, I have fallen through the world now twice and BOTH times have been when climbing down a ladder and having to jump off as opposed to stepping off (which is just freaking stupid in general) and the car that im driving in literally had no tires. And yes, I was driving around like that. It's like the game forgot to load the tires. Thankfully though, when I went back to play late last night, game loaded the car perfectly fine. I'm guessing that it was after I died and reloaded the checkpoint which I don't do anymore. I actually abort the mission and start the mission clean if I screw up an optional objective.
I am enjoying the game though a lot more than I did last year's Homefront (which I was also hoping was a poor man's Far Cry) and having fun with the game.
Options wise, im playing in HARD mode with aim assist off, the first tagging option under difficulty off but second option is on. I also have the tutorial stuff off but XP notifications is on. Bullet Camera is off. I had enough of that when I played Sniper Elite 4 back in February. It's cool the first few times but afterwards, not so much.
Before I forget...my biggest complaint thus far has been The Escape of Lydia so called expansion. For those who don't know, this was originally the pre-order bonus before the season pass was thrown in. There's ONLY two missions and both are linear maps. Both are cool for what they are but considering that there's a decent opening cinematic and that it's supposed to be a prologue to the main story, I was definitely expecting more.
Granted, it's just a crappy DLC but considering this is being advertised as ONE of TWO major single player story expansions, it's a huge disappointment. The Sabotage DLC better be good!!! (Doubt it will be but whatever)
Crap...keep remembering stuff. Hehe. Be prepared to got to your safe house often as you'll need to restock on ammo, upgrade your weapons, etc. and start missions. This may bother some but from the outset, you can fast travel to inside the safe house so it's not that big of a deal. Also, I do like the weapon cache/workbench stuff. Haven't actually crafted anything yet though. Mainly keep buying ammo. LOL.
Anyway, will be playing more this afternoon. Outside of the technical issues, if you're looking for a Far Cry type game, you'll most likely enjoy SGW3. Definitely hyped to keep playing.Comment

So how do you unlock guns? Find them throughout the world?

Should the Lydia mission be played before starting the campaign?

Could the aiming reticle be patched in? Never realized how dependent on it I am.
I played the Lydia campaign on Monday before starting the main story but I was mainly messing around with the game and didn't start playing for real until yesterday (Tuesday).
Since I deleted the save file from Monday and started fresh yesterday (Tuesday), I still have to go through it again. I'll do that once I complete the story but since it's a prologue, it's better to play it beforehand but at the same time, the story and info is pretty much non-existent unless the little bits fit into the main story later on. Not really sure. All I will say is that is was crappy.
The aiming reticle could probably be patched in but I doubt that will happen due to the guns having laser sight attachments.Comment

At what point does the game open up? Meaning tutorial stuff is over.
