    for example:

they hype a game up saying that it's really cool and look at all these great things you'll be able to do and imagine how sweet it's going to be and watch the videos in our video section and try to keep your pants on.

and then they review it saying "ehh. it's mediocre."....on to the next game.

    that's annoying.

I think, for the most part, those sites review fairly. I check gamespot and ign and take all their points into perspective. I just hate how they get us all excited with their previews and then let us down with their reviews.

How could a game with such an incredible roster, play so horribly.
I guess it all depends on what you're looking forward to but according to the reviews of the previous L.O.W. games, how could a person expect it to be any better? Weren't those games rated pretty bad?

Just because a series was bad in the past doesn't mean all version after that are also bad...jeeesh.

It wasn't a terrible game, but the gameplay was very shallow and somewhat repetitive. It got stale after about 4 hours of play.
I agree. I didn't even make it through the whole game because I was so bored. The first few hours were fun because it was a novel concept, but after that, ehh.

Sleeper Hit: Riddick- game came out of nowhere from an unknown developer and was very good

Biggest Disappointment: Ncaa Football 2005- This was the one game that I thought was bulletproof, but they made a few crucial errors this year- especially on the XBOX version.

As an aside, the hype of MVP 2004 forever reigned in my expectations for games. With that being said I resisted the hype and turned Fable from a must buy to a week or two rental. Evaluating it for what is and not what it coulda or shoulda been I think its a very very good game and am not the least bit dissappointed with it.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

My personal biggest dissappointment is also NCAA 2005. I thought there was no way EA could screw it up. the NCAA series WAS the only series EA consistently does very well -- no hit or miss years, plus for me 04 was awesome. The only sports game i have ever played more than NCAA 04 was tecmo super bowl on NES and that was when football games didnt come out every year.

05 has got major issues -- especially in online play where your forced to use the default gameplay settings/sliders...they really blew it for guys who like realistic football (especially leagues- no neutral field? overdone HFA) and not mad bombing, mad dropping, among other online gameplay flaws...

but NCAA 2005's letdown made me pick up ESPN NFL for my online league football fix and man this game is my biggest surprise. If i hadnt been EA letdown id still be playing NCAA and would not have given ESPN a look. It has its share of flaws online (DT/DE glitch among others) but the presentation is spectacular, the gameplay has tremendous on field depth with audibles, packages etc and the online leagues through espn videogames are unreal. The league set-up online takes the pain out of everything with the stats, articles, message boards, basically the whole league accessible to all your coaches. It has set a new standard for online league style football.

great purchase for me and only 14.99 I paid at toys r us, unbelievable. I'll be able to pick up ESPN NFL, ESPN college hoops and ESPN NBA for a little more than what i would have paid for madden.

Before I tell mine I have to tell you the biggest disapointment in gaming I ever had:

                            Metal Gear Solid 2

                            Worst sequel ever.

Biggest sleeper for 2004: ESPN NHL 2k5 (I heard stuff about that game... but man is this game awesome... $20 in the US. Lots of modes. Lots of fun

Biggest disapointment for 2004: Nascar 2005, no 4 players offline, no profiles, no stat trackings for my friends, no EA Bio

Biggest Dissapointment: Legends of Wrestling 3.

I was reading the Q and A's on OS and with the answers I got from the producer I thought the game would be real good. Then I played the game and within the first minute I was wondering why the players were going right through each other and why they had teleport powers across the ring. The game is nothing but a coaster.

                                Biggest Sleeper: ESPN NHL 2k5

I enjoyed 2k4 but was pissed after a producer said the super goalies were gone and previews from websites said it was also toned down .... which was false. So I lowered my expectations for 2k5 and was blown away. IMO NHL 2k5 is the sports game of the year so far. Sure there are bugs in the game but the gameplay is incredible. I don't have one single complaint about the gameplay (that's never happened before). And the game is packed with extra's like 15 party games, dream team ladder, skills competition, fantasy rinks, arcade mode, etc... all for 30 bones Canadian. Simply incredible and kudos to KUSH.
