Is there a way manually lock on aircraft? It seems for me the ai is picking for me and I’m having trouble getting through mission 4 “rescue” especially after the 2 minute checkpoint. Any pointers? I feel like I’m missing something obvious.

You can hit triangle to switch targets on PS4.

The campaign on Normal is too hard for me. Kept dying or failing on mission 5 and really frustrated. The games poor design decisions don’t let you change difficulty once you start so I can’t drop down to Easy. I have to start all over which sucks.

May try some online stuff more. I’ve got two weeks with this game (one week left) and if I get more frustrated I’m just trading it back in for credit.

Ace Combat 7 Update Version 1.01 Patch Notes For PS4

            Version 1.01

Corrected descriptions for trophies that require collecting a certain number of medals.

Fixed an issue affecting THRUSTMASTER flight sticks in VR mode in which pressing the R3 button would switch weapons and change the cockpit multi-function display (MFD) mode at the same time.

The person in charge of design should be smacked. Can’t change difficulties during the campaign and I went to try the VR and you are forced into using the advanced controls. Why take options away from the gamer? Anyways, I got motion sickness in less than five minutes. The constant rolling of my plane with the advanced controls didn’t help. Will not try that again.

I can't believe this game took 3 years from announcement to be released. I'm thankful I wasn't in the loop of things like many of you, waiting on the edge of my seat, because I don't know if I could have kept my patience that long. I basically only knew of the game's release because of the reviews popping up in my YouTube feed...

Anyway, I really enjoyed this game. This was my first Ace Combat game, and I was very much impressed. Played the game through 3 times (easy, normal, and hard). But I am not even going to bother trying to beat the game on Ace, lol. I am not sure how you guys do it -- for the life of me, I just cannot use the Expert controls, my brain just doesn't work that way. The Normal control scheme just comes natural & intuitive to me. There's just no way I can beat this game on Ace difficulty without learning the Expert controls -- I'll throw my controller trying to dogfight and get on the tails of these shifty A.I. jets, lol.

Oh, and I wish I could handle the VR mode. I suppose I should utilize my PSVR more, and slowly build up a tolerance for playing games in VR... But, literally immediately after take off from the naval carrier, it made me queasy. Played for less than 10 minutes, then quit ... and had a raging headache for the rest of the night.

Yes. I got queasy playing IL2 Sturmovik in VR at first but after a bit I was playing 2 hour sessions no problem.

BTW that’s a really good VR sim.

I just realized that I had pre-ordered AC7 on the PS4 and went ahead and put in the code on my receipt and got AC5 : The Unsung War's full game. Had no idea. Strange that there's two different games you get with the different platforms.

Ace 6 and Assault Horizon were the only Ace games released on the X. I'm very happy they didn't include Horizon..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

There was a study done that says motion sickness effects 80% of those who play vr games. I also read that NASA and other aeronautics studies for flight is a work in progress towards tolerance for pilots that go through periods until they have to gain there so called 'vr legs' when training. Ace has all the appearance of flying a fighter jet even though it's technically not a flight sim.

I've tried a fan and or chewing ginger gum which helped when I first started playing vr. Now, depending on the games, I'll just go sessions until I have to take the headset off for breaks and usually after 3 or 4 times it becomes a non issue. Other games like Firewall, Star Trek, or Moss didn't effect me at all. Ace however, is a different animal for sure and you're going to most likely need assistance. I've mostly now keep myself hydrated or chew ginger gum (you could purchase it at a CVS) before taking to the skies ...lol

I have not played this game since release day. I need to jump back in. Very ticked off that they didn't include co-op missions in this version of Ace. Buddy and I hoped that they might patch it in or something....we spent countless of hours doing that in Ace 6
