anyway, the thing about Halo is that you don't have to like FPS to play it. I know a lot of people (inicluding myself) who only really play sports games, but love Halo. A lot of it is the multiplayer, if you can get a situation where you can play 4 on 4 or 8 on 8 with a bunch of friends, it will become very clear why the game is so popular. It's been the inspiration of many, surprisingly legal, online gaming sites for xbox. The single player is good, it's really damn good, but the multiplayer is where the real strength of the game is. The most telling sign I have seen yet is after a few months of playing Halo 4-5 times a week with friends, I tried to play some PS2 shooter (a James Bond game I think) and I just couldn't stand it at all. The graphics, the controls, the weapons, everything was just terrible to me. Not a knock on that game, because my friends who never played Halo seemed to really enjoy the Bond game, but after playing Halo I just couldn't stand any other console shooter.
I don't think you will do the game justice playing it single player, I played it a little bit and didn't really think much of the game until I got to play big multiplayer games with friends. But once I was into the multiplayer the single player became much more fun to me. So maybe rent it, but I don't think you will get the full effect of the game just playing single player. If you and friends ever got into Goldeneye you will understand the Halo obsession.Comment

plus just being able to drive the cars is cool. I had the game for xbox, and i played the first few levels, but then i returned my xbox. It is really good. What i like is that you can use things in the level. For example you can drive the cars which is cool. You only get to carry 2 weapons which is better then being able to carry 10, and the weapons actually have somewhat of a noticable difference. You can get onto those stationary guns and shoot people. The AI is really good, for your teammates and enemy.Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.Comment

Hmm..the OS games are gonna be SWEET!
I can host pretty well on RS3:BA, so I'll try hosting in Halo 2.Blind to this impending fate
We let the world carry our weight
It's back breaks with every mile
But we all live in denialComment

Re: Halo and Halo-2...please explain the hype
i like the fact you can only hold two weapons instead of holding 20. trying to create the best weapon combo is awesome both in multi player and single.
the grenades are awesome, i love those sticky bombs, especially when you tag someone from deep. i love the multi player levels, you have huge arena's to drive different vehicles or stacked levels where you can aim high or low at people.Comment

Re: Halo and Halo-2...please explain the hype
I rented halo once and I have to admit the way they made the storyline in the gameplay was pretty good for a FPS. I'm not a big fps fan, but I do like playing "Multiplay" FPS, like Unreal Tournament. I don't really play single player fps, so halo is really not as exciting as everyone makes it out to be, at least for me. I don't own halo, but I'm thinking about getting Halo 2, mainly for online play.Comment
