Re: Halo and Halo-2...please explain the hype

Wow...you sound exactly like me. I usually don't like shooters, only play sports and didn't understand it. So....I rented it about 2 years ago. I didn't like it at all and got a little motion sick (I think I sat too close to the TV).

However....I recently tried playing mulit-player (versus mode) with a friend and really liked it. We played a lot and I got somewhat good (it's a lot like the old James Bond for N64). Then we tried to do a multi-player trying to beat the game. For 3 days straight we played almost 5 hours a day (we were both on vacation from work and I live out of state so since I was visiting we had some time to kill).

We didn't beat it but sure got close. As soon as I got back home I bought it. I don't enjoy playing the levels by myself (just not as much fun as with someone else) but I've used Xbox Connect to play versus mode online and it's a good time. I'm looking forward to Halo 2 coming out.

I agree with what other said. Rent it and see what you think.

At first, i just played to see exactly what everyone was talking about. And i wasnt very impressed....right up until the halfway point. The story then grabbed a hold of me and beat me down until i finished it. I loved the story once i got to that 'point' in the game where everything starts to go nuts.

I play a little bit of multiplayer now and then, and think its quite fun; but i am the opposite way for halo. I love it cause of the story.
