Anyone else playing with a 970? How's your preformance? Mine seemed to have micro-stuttering on both Ultra or High. Nothing crazy, but noticeable enough to bother me some. This was before downloading the new drivers for the beta. If I play tonight I'll be able to see if the drivers make a difference.

I don't have a 970, but the new drivers made a big difference for me on my 780ti. Its ultra fast and smooth now. Hope it helps you out, you should be able to handle it pretty nicely

I did last night but just hit the button to reconnect and it worked instantly.

It sucks to hear a bunch of y'all aren't feeling the beta, but that's cool. I understand it isn't for everyone. My buddy played a few rounds last night and was saying he didn't like it. By the end of the night he was already loving it though.

I'm not going to argue or try to convince y'all who don't enjoy it on why you should or anything. If you don't like it you don't like it. Simple as that.

All I know is that personally I'm loving every second of it. Only real issue I've come across is the damn menus taking an eternity sometimes.

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)

Played a couple of Conquest rounds on the Xbox One, about to do a couple on the PS4. From those two rounds, it just confirmed that it was a day 1 buy for me. It's an absolute blast and an evolution of the BF franchise that I thought was necessary. After putting in about 400 hours on the PS4 version of BF4, and playing a ton of BF3 and BC2, the formula and menus and everything about the game was starting to get a little tired.

Hardline and Battlefront I was not a fan of at all and I see alot of comparisons to those games. I'm just not seeing it I guess. Yes, the game looks somewhat similar to Battlefront in the graphics department but I only see that as a positive. As much as that game wasn't for me, I could not believe how great it looked as a FPS game and only hoped we would see 50% of that in the next BF game because of all the destruction involved. IMHO, this game trumps Battlefront graphically (and I've yet to play the PS4 version) in almost every way.

I don't know, I guess my expectations were maybe different? I truly don't know how as a BF player you could be disappointed but I respect those opinions. I will admit I'm not a huge fan of the map as it's a little too open and sniperey for my tastes but I have no problem with the size of the map whatsoever. It's the lack of cover. I just stayed in the more congested areas and enjoyed the heck out of that.

Once I got out of the Siege mentality and back into the more run n gun gameplay of Battlefield I started playing well. My only dilemma at this point is which system to get it for. Might just bite the bullet and grab both.

Just 970. Paired with an i7 6700k and 16gb RAM so the stuttering surprised me. May have just been the outdated drivers though.

I know most of you guys don't seem to like it, but I'm a fan of it. I'm keeping my pre-order and looking to sink some hours into this one.

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)

Played some more this morning. It's growing on me more and more and I'm starting to get the BF feel rather than Hardline or B-Front most have alluded to. I don't see Hardline in this at all, and Battlefront feel to me only comes from the graphics (good thing) and the UI/post game scores. Other than that, it's BF to me.

I don't get the criticism of the map either. Some don't like the expanse desert feel, and I'm more of a more dense city type map, but this map is gorgeous and has everything you'd want. I tend to stick to the center of the map with the buildings.

Guns for the most part feel great. I'd like them to change the recoil, as I'm sure they will. Vehicles are fun. Horses are fun.

All in all, so far, compared to what BF3 and BF4 were at the time of beta, this feels far more polished thus far. We all know BF3/4 turned out great and they are all time favs of most here, and I can see this getting there as well. It's a beta, there are bugs, things we want tweaked, and DICE always does a great job of doing that and supporting their games. But, if the finished product is better than the beta, then I think it'll be a great game.

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)

After playing both versions I'm surprised to say this game, on the whole, is better on the Xbox One. In its current state obviously as alot can still change between now and final release.

Now, I can't speak to the resolution but tbh in the heat of the moment I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between 900p and 1080p. What is very easy to tell though, and where the Xbox version seems to have a leg up on, is frame rate. I had zero frame rate hiccups on the One. On the PS4 it happened alot when I was aiming which makes that very difficult. One caveat though is that as I turned the sensitivity up, the frame rate issues were lessened.

This is obviously not ideal as the sensitivity being too high for me ruins my enjoyment because of how jerky THAT can feel. One other aspect that was noticeable was the hit detection/netcode. The PS4 version it was almost a guessing game as to where the game actually thinks the guy I'm shooting at is. It's a little cleaner experience on the One though both are far from perfect in this regard.

Still, having alot of fun with it and wish so bad they gave us a different map than this one, though the weather/sand effects are awesome.

I've probably sunk about 12 hours into it.

I agree that it feels a lot like Battlefront and I think it has kind of been "watered down" for more casual play.

I have had some fun. Horses and planes especially are fun to ride/pilot. I will still be buying this, on disc, and hope it ends up being the game I hoped it would be.

Theres a chance I had too high expectations

In that central area, with the three points, the village or whatever, action gets pretty hectic. Definitely have had fun there. Them map itself is pretty cool, not my favorite. I like the sandstorm. From a technical standpoint it really looks and runs great on PC.

I get the battlefront comparisons - it's not just the graphics but the user input response which IS a good thing, but makes it FEEL less...battlefield-y imo. To me bf4 was awesome and I hated hardline and didn't buy battlefront because there just wasn't enough going on - that was because of the lack of structures and vehicles and destruction.

This game to me and this is just my opinion is a middle-ground between bf4 and battlefront. I'm not seeing the hardline connection because hardline had imo terrible animations. Having said that, and now this should make sense is this one feels also more arcade than bf4 and I'm not sure exactly why. Maybe it's the faster pace?
I feel like one thing the franchise really needs is a better capturing gameplay element in conquest. Enough just sitting them and getting a flag animation - give me real tangible benefits or maybe a totally different look/building/animation - whatever.
i haven't flown yet and would like to, and another random note - I love sniping in almost every game, and even though it might be 'easier' (not to me) in this one, maybe less bullet drop? higher bullet velocity? I'm really digging the default gun in the medic class! It feels like old-timey warefare but still packs a punch and is very satisfying semi-auto-ing dudes down with that thing iron sights and all.

I need to play more, I'm not 100% on it, need to play more but I'm def leaning yes and I didn't buy/like either battlefront OR (and especially) Hardline (stank)

Agree with you, the starting medic gun is great IMO. Being a medic isn't quite as fun, for me, in the beta as in other games but I think they will make some tweaks to that system.
