I remember BF4's Beta being hot garbage for me with a lot of glaring issues. I don't know why anyone would have expected hit detection to be that great in a beta. Bullet drop definitely needs work, though.. If it's not a thing I'll be pretty disappointed. It will open the door for a bunch of no skill snipers to run free in MP.

Overall It's fun for a Beta with a bunch of BF newbies running around. I don't see anything so drastically different from past modern BF games that would run anyone off. It might not have been the best map choice for a Beta, but I'm sure they wanted to show horse riding off right away.

I've seen some people who I KNOW play COD saying it's too casual for them.

I'll likely buy this for both consoles so I can play with the usual PS4 OSer crew on weekeends and I can still play with a few guys that I work with in my current time zone.

Anyways.. hopefully I can catch some of the usual PS4 crew on this weekeend between Football.
Nice write up Chase, I agree with a few of your points.

You gonna be on real early my time this weekend like in the past?

If so I'll def run with ya tomorrow & Sun as well.

    See ya on the Battlefield!

I think the anti-tank stuff within the assault class should be a default option versus having to rank up to get it. The bug where you don't level up with the XP from a match unless you leave the lobby after the game also hinders players from leveling up. So I just attribute the power of tanks due to both an oversight by DICE with leveling up and the bug...I'm hopeful it won't be as bad.

That said...sniping from a tank needs to be toned down. Just saying.

Edit: Not really, but want to jump on if I can get some good teammates.

I might be lucky, but it seems that on the PC tanks are getting taken out at a decent rate. And the guys going 21-0 in a tank are sitting back and not really helping their teams capture and defend the crucial flags.

Really wish the bayonet charge was on a different button, has cost me few kills when I just want to do a regular melee.

Threw an incendiary grenade at some dude charging at me on a horse, both him and the horse go up in flames galloping off through the desert. Looked like a scene from ghost rider I could not stop laughing.

I've been having some fun playing the beta. I don't think I've ever been so close to the top of the leaderboard in a Battlefield game than the game I just had.

Played a bunch last night to get myself to rank 15 ( I read somewhere if you get to rank 15, and play on 4 separate days in the beta you get something in the retail version.)

Had a blast...really, I know I have always been a fan of the game since beta dropped, but this game is just plain fun. Tried Rush for the first time and both attack and defend worked really well. I have minor issues with the map, like getting stuck in the middle of nowhere when playing conquest. One of the flags is just stupid far away and if you have no vehicle or horse it makes more sense to kill yourself and spawn closer.

But the game really is growing on me and I can't wait for release. Got the premium pass last night to solidify my excitement.

One of the funny moments I had was when me & another guy charged each other on horses head on. We ended up killing each other at the same time with the swipe of our swords.

What is the complaint about bullet drop? Bits definitely in there for sniper rifles. You can see the difference between different weapons.

Preface: It's going to sound it, but its not the case; this is NOT just me being a fanboy. It'll look like it because I've praised the game a few times already, but I was and have been the first to call out the crap times in this series too. A la, BF4 being trash for the better part of a year.

But the more I play this game the more I like it. I'm beyond excited for release (assuming its not a disaster, and it could be).

The plane's are an absolute BLAST. The controls are so smooth and they're just fun to fly and rewarding as hell. And watching them fly over the battlefield, all simplistic with their machine guns in dogfights is a thing of beauty. Really gives that old-school feeling of 'old' war. With the planes and the massiveness of this map (which has grown on me) it really gives it that BF 1942 feeling.

The stationary turrets all over the map give it that BC2 feel and at the same time, it has that new, Battlefront feel. A well done combination in my mind.

Its not perfect, and launch could very well be a disaster. But I've had as much straightforward FUN the past couple days on 1 map as I've had on any BF game.

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)

I'm also enjoying it more and more. I have some gripes, but It's easy to forget about most of them.

I like this map, but It's a bit too open for my style of play so I try to stick to area near C and D if I can. You can tell there's quite a few people who never play Battlefield running around the beta. I can goof off and try random things the entire round and still finish towards the top of the leaderboard.

I imagine it won't be like that when the full game is out for a bit. Anyways.. I'm really digging the weapons. There's a serious sense of satisfaction when I get a kill.. which is something I had started to lose with other Battlefield games. I like the sound the game gives after a kill.. It reminds me of Battlefield Bad Company 2.

This game is beautiful and it has more of a cartoonish vibe to it for me, but that's okay... It's probably just the vibrant colors. When the storm rolls in, flying in a plane is really difficult.

I'm just looking forward to seeing the other maps in this game. I bet this map will be most everyone's least favorite. I hope some tweaks to bullet penetration/detection come with the full game. I find myself mostly complaining about people being bullet sponges.
