So after a solid two hours of trying ([emoji23]) here's what helped me for those still working on her...

        - Level all your gear up. Think I was an 8

        - Just accept youre gonna get crushed for about the first 15 attempts. But its necessary because you need to pick up on her attacks and how to react appropriately

        - If you see her hover in the air, have Atreus shoot her to stop that unblockable attack she does (that was really screwing me early on). So always have some arrows in the tank so you're ready

        - Use your runic attacks as often as possible. I played around with basically all of them and ended up with both light runic attacks that have the highest stun but also the lowest cool down. For the heavy I used the one that sends an ice wave and for the blades the gift of appollo that gives you life back. I think that last one is what eventually won it for me....I used the wolves for Atreus.

        - Also went into the fight with full rage. And equipped the rage resurrection stone.

That's basically it. I didn't even really need the resurrection stone at the end...I mean I did end up using it lol...but only because I kinda relaxed some seeing that my set up was working really well for me and that the round was going much easier than the previous ones.

I may be attributing too much to them, but I really think those blades of appollo did the trick. Getting life back without having to try to stop and snatch up one of those health's from the ground all while having to keep an eye on her and avoid her unblockable attacks was a HUGE relief for me...that squirrel was a big waste of a runic spot! [emoji23]

        But everyone plays differently...So 🤷🏾*♂️

I also watched a video and it looks like the strategy I saw was to use a lot of Cooldown Stones, so that the runic attacks come back more quickly.

I am gonna try that next

The shattered gauntlet of ages is decent in the last valkyrie battle since you can add three additional enchantments.

Started over again on Hard rather than waiting for NG+. There is a big difference between Normal and Hard. I can’t do it. I’ll die ten times in a row in one battle and I find if I switch to normal I do it in one try and fairly easily. Often I can get by on Hard at times but super tough fights kill me a lot and it’s too frustrating.

I completed the game on hard and yeah, it's definitely not an easy game. It has SoulsBorne type combat meaning you have to be more defensive than offensive.

Dying ten times in a row is nothing. Try more than a hundred in a 22 hour or so span on a Valkyrie. And not the final one either. I wanted to quit the game at this point but stuck with it because my friend beat her on hard on the fourth attempt.

Difference being that I had the wrong runes and whatnot. Once I changed it and became more aggressive (some fights require being more aggressive but majority are defensive), I beat her after several attempts.

Also, I had the compass off, enemy detection off and aim assist off which does make the combat harder. But in the end, God of War is easily my 2018 game of the year and I had to see it through.

I still haven't gone back to my "Give me God of War" difficulty save. The bosses aren't that bad, it's swarms of regular "weak" enemies.

I want those stupid shields you get for beating game in that mode, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

I just finished the story (easy mode...don't judge).
It really was great, but I must admit it was disappointing that we didn't face off with more famous Gods.

It didn't feel like a God of War game.
It felt like Naughty Dog's version of GOW.

But I love Naughty Dog, so that's cool too.
I might mess around a bit trying to unlock and find things, but I still have 5-6 games I haven't even opened yet.

I really liked the Baldur character in the game, what I didn't care for he was pretty much only boss you fight except for Thor's kids, and you use pretty much same technique to beat him every time.

A big part of the fun for me is getting and upgrading rare armor and weapons. Getting 100% completion was fun to me. I've played through game a few times just to use photo mode to capture specific pictures.

I wouldn't say I expected more famous Gods as I'm not that familiar with Norse mythology, but expected more larger GOW 3 scale battles. They planted the seeds though and I feel like we'll get those epic clashes in the sequels. This was an awesome intro to the Norse world and plate setter. We know who the players are and what their powers are and how Kratos now factors into the lore. I've googled most of the people mentioned just to understand their place more and speculate on where I think things may go.

THere could have been more boss battles but I consider the valkyries to qualify.

Not gonna lie, getting the two bonus shields kinda sucked.
