What i was saying is,that ea has to come up with some better efforts imo on their games ,like nhl, madden, and live(allstar part is the only good thing)and fifa isnt as good as winning soccer eleven series, and IMPROVE them, yes they will keep selling,if they suck dont buy them, and they might get the picture, thats all we can do as consumers.

Yah no kidding. EA crushed this year. Seriously you need to think about it. It's competition has either gone out of business (Acclaim) or taken a step back themselves, even after lowering their prices.

Who were the winners this year?

      Baseball - EA
      Football - EA
      Basketball - EA
      Hockey - ESPN

EA is only getting stronger, whether you can deal with it or not.

To quote the vice president of EA sports..."You could tape a ham sandwich to a copy of ESPN NFL 2k5 and give it away for free and Madden would still outsell it."

Its true, but you have to wonder if pride cometh before the fall??? I saw the statistics, but I can't remember them....I know that NCAA 2005 has outsold ESPN 2K% and Madden outsells NCAA 3 fold or something to that effect.

The only EA game I own this year is College Football...In the past years I have owned Madden, Baseball, Hockey, NasCAr and BasketBall.....

This year I am hooked on NFL2K5...I also have ESPN Hockey 2K4 and ESPN BasketBall 2K5 and I am preordering ESPN College Hoops...This is the first year I have ever purchased a Sega game....I think it is the $20 price tag..I like so much.....$20 and XBox Live make all fo these games well worth the small price Tag...I salute ESPN for their new Marketing strat..I just hope it doesn't break the bank and keep them from making the profits they need to keep the series alive.....anyone have the sales figures for this year and last...I would be interested in the net numbers compared to last year not just the gross.....because profit is what make the world go round...

I definitely think Sega's games have brought something fresh and exciting, but quality they haven't brought. Their games are the buggiest games known to man. If they just increase their QA, I think they will do even better in sales. ESPN NFL's franchise blew (gameplay rocked though) - trades, draft, NBA's timeout problem and trades, NHL's free agents remaining there because no team has any money left, and many people have reported freezes overall.

This isn't to say that EA's games are bug free, but they definitely go through better QA. EA's games on XBOX suck framerate wise (save Madden and NHL this year).

Not so cut and dry, my friend...
I own both the EA and ESPN versions of each sport except for hockey, here's my take:

                          Baseball - EA (hands down)
Football - coin toss (I would tend to lean towards EA, since they also have a college offering, but IMO NFL 2K5 plays a better single game and KILLS in presentation whereas Madden has the better franchise)
                          Basketball - ESPN (hands down)
Hockey - No idea...haven't played the hockey games this year

As for the thread topic, EA Sports isn't going anywhere!

MVP was better than ESPN Baseball? Are you guys high?

I've played both, and ESPN was much more realistic than MVP, especially after minor slider adjustments.

Football was a push. Both games had strengths and weaknesses. I haven't played either hoop game, and ESPN dominates hockey, both in quality and at the cash registers.

                              Take care,
