    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I've never had so much fun doing side activities in a game. The story is great too, and I'm almost at the end of it. I don't want it to end so I'm going to hold off on the main story for a while and do nothing but side missions, hunting, fishing, and playing cards to savor this great game a bit longer. I do have a lot of species of fish and animals still to discover.

      Red Dead Redemption 2

I read an ign article in regards to getting perfect pelts, which can be summed up in the following:

      1. Pick your weapon wisely. A sawed off shotgun to a squirrel is probably too much. The varmit rifle (ie a .22) is probably a better choice.

      2. Head shots are key. Dead eye helps out here.

      3. The most important one here, the animal has to be rated 3 stars. Next time you outdoorsmen here go on a hunting trip, break out the binoculars and make sure you are going after a three star animal (don’t forget to later up in deer piss either).

Possible spoilers in the article below:

I would also like to add that hunting the legendary buck is worth it for the fact that you can craft a trinket (from the fence guy) that increases the chances of perfect pelts.

I'll give one more I found myself (though I will spoiler tag it because I still feel like finding some of this out yourself can be fun):

If you study an animal before killing it, it tells you what condition the pelt will be and what the best weapon to use is.

Just bought this digitally waiting to be installed. I have two kids and a full time job so it’s always tough finding the time to play. I usually sacrifice sleep just to get some gaming in. I just now will be sacrificing even more sleep.

I prefer to auto pilot everywhere. Makes the long distance traveling more enjoyable.

I've had the dialogue audio completely disappear three times. Twice during a Sadie mission, and once during the final scene. During that scene, Dutch completely froze. Really takes you out of the moment.

So I exited the game and had to start the mission over.

How the heck do you tell side missions from main missions?

Story missions are yellow. Side missions are white.

Twice on the final scene now. No dialogue audio at the exact same point, and Dutch freezes again. I literally can't finish the game.

Really, really curious how online will work in this game. I’m sure many aspects will be similar to GTA Online, but I’m really hoping for some more intricate and detailed story telling online.

I’ve been looking at online communities for role playing (yes, I’m that big of a dork) and I’d be interested in joining one. Never really done it but it looks like it could be fun if done right.

I’d love to see something where (with each player sticking to specific, “roles”) you have a group of outlaws. Maybe 4-5 guys. A group of law enforcement (10-15 guys). A group of Native Americans, some hunters, some bounty hunters, etc.
