Hang around the swamps. That's where I always see them. The pristine ones are really rare, tho. I guess it's because of all of the mud?

Me too! That map makes it look like you would be tripping over one every time you left camp. I can literally count on one hand how many I've seen since release and have only managed to come across ONE pristine pelt.

There's multiple difficulties with hunting varmints like raccoons and badgers. Hard to glass for them with binoculars since they are easily covered up by bushes and grass. They don't seem to flush from a mile away like rabbits. When you do get close enough to get them on the move they stay low to the ground and scurry, they don't bound like squirrels, so they're harder to follow. You'll find three together at most, usually only one, so odds of finding the three star pelt when populations are low can take some lucky random number generation.

If you have the patience, sit and wait. That's how I've been able to get critters. Haven't hunted them a lot, so may have been all luck, but that brought me my best fortune with them.

I've gotten 2, and this was some of the best fun trying to find the treasure. Both treasure were not to far away in area from where I got map, hint hint.

So I am chapter 6 I believe.....but anyway the last couple of missions man......I REALLY HATE DUTCH. Such an idiot. I just want to pull out my semi auto shotgun and blast his head off.

Are you unable to follow their tracks in eagle eye? Once you visually confirm a specific animal you want to hunt, pull out the binoculars and hold R1 to study it. After that, anytime you go into eagle eye and you see a track made by that animal species, the game will tell you " ______ track" and you can basically follow it to the ends of the earth, even if it gets lost in other tracks. It'll tell you the quality too, so you don't have to just hope you're following a 3* .


Study everything - it will make hunting so much easier.
