I’ll have a pretty decent upgraded pc soon, and I hadn’t really considered an ultra wide monitor, but the idea of this game in the open plains on that kind of display sounds amazing.
I'm guessing something happens after Chapter 4 that is altering to the game itself? Hmm. I know after I pretty much finished RDR 1 how things changed, so I'm guessing something similar could happen in RDR 2.

I should capture some ultrawide footage for you, but it may not have the same effect looking at something with black bars whereas I wouldn't have any when playing myself. It's super awesome, though.

Yeah, without saying too much, there are a couple of big story beats around that point and I think the way things progress you can miss out on specific side quests going forward.

There's definitely still times where I boot up RDR 2 just to live. It can be a meditative and grounding experience.

          Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

Couldn't find the original Red Dead Redemption thread.

"Rockstar's new site update, live an hour ago, added a new reference within the games list.

"Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Ver)"

          Codename:
          - RDR1RSP (RDR1 Remaster SP?)

          New logo below
          #reddeadredemption
          "

This has been speculated for a while and that it could be announced next month(August). As long as it is better quality than the GTA Trilogy remaster, I'll be interested. I question if they couldn't have went the remake route since they have the RDR2 assets which still holds up very well today.

            Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

Just finished RDR2 last night. The amount of care, quality, content, and sheer attention to detail this game has is really second-to-none. I've never seen anything like it. I probably didn't even see 50% of the content of the game and I've been playing it for 3 months (!). I don't even really want to replay it, not because it wouldn't be fun (it definitely would be fun to do things differently a second time around), but I'd never move on to anything else if I did.

If there's a better entertainment value for $20, I have never seen it.

Rockstar Games will release Red Dead Redemption digitally for PlayStation 4 and Switch on August 17 for $49.99, the company announced. It will include the downloadable content “Undead Nightma…

Looks like it isn't a remaster. It's just coming to the Switch and PS4, not even PC. It is a little disappointing. Was the demand that high to just re-release it on the Switch and PS4. Feels just like a cash grab situation.

I'm more than okay with the perception that it's all hands on deck for GTA VI. But, I would've liked if they did a next gen patch for RDR2. It doesn't even have to be a definitive edition. Just a patch that allows 4k60 on current gen consoles.
And for $50 too for the Undead bundle. You can see some texture and LOD upgrades, but that doesn't warrant a $50 tag for a game that came out 13 years ago. Should have released on PC as well if it's just a port. And it was developed by Double Eleven Studios.

I'm disappointed in this even though I never expected the rumors to be true. It's obvious rockstar is only interested in $ and online and no longer cares about single player stuff. I also didn't need it to be brand new fancy remaster I just wanted the PS5 graphics.

No PC, no Multi-player, and $50 for a port. Not shocking from Rockstar, just a little disappointing.

For me, it raises the expectation for GTA VI. I appreciate the all hands on deck approach. But the money grab approach with GTA Trilogy and now this port, makes me hope GTA VI meets the expectations. I know some don't like the Remaster/Remake phase. My thing is that with Rockstar's resources, they should've been able to do quality side projects without having to sacrifice GTA VI. I just look at a studio like Insomniac who was able to put out Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2, and a couple years away from Wolverine. While with Rockstar, we just mainly had GTA Online updates and money grabs in GTA Trilogy and now RDR.

                    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I have been replaying this game the past few weeks.

I'm almost done with the events in Saint Dennis. Out of curiosity I went back and read some of my posts in this thread and it's interesting how different my outlook is on some things in the game now vs the original playthrough.

I think this is a good example of how the time, place, etc. a game releases can really impact how you feel about it. I enjoyed it just fine on that original playthrough but was so focused on finishing the story I could not enjoy a lot of the side activities and the world.

There's still a few minor story annoyances where you realize just how dumb a lot of the characters are but that's kind of the point I think.

Anyways.. I'm trying to hammer through this before CFB 25 releases and so far I'm making pretty good timing considering when I started.

10/10 game.. except the Island chapter which I'm about to see. I wish this thing has a 60 FPS option for PS5. I had to really work to readjust my eyes to play this game at 30 FPS.

Yeah, this is a game I have been waiting to replay until their is a 60 fps option console. I'm surprised they never made a native current gen version or at least a patch

I'm trying to be less honorable but the bar is still somewhere close the middle for my Arthur. Now granted I aint going on random shooting sprees or anything because I don't want to deal with the bounties when playing the story.

F them bounty hunters!.... until they finally get me and then I go commit more crimes to pay the bounty and..... yeah, it's not a very productive cycle but it's consistent.

                              The game itself is amazing.

They needed to tell a better story, for my $$. Arthur and most of the crew deserved a win here and there.

.. definitely needed more Sadie Adler.
