    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

Wandering outside of Valentine, come across this random homestead. The man is out near his corral, I come up engage and greet him......and he immediately draws on me without provocation. He starts yelling about the damage to his property and telling me to get away.

I slowly back my horse up thinking I'm just going to leave but as I'm backing up I notice he's alone, has a house and barn that have to have provisions, and 2 of the Florida Steers in his corral. I decide it's worth it and blast him, kill the cattle and get good meat and hides off of them. Found some really good stuff in the house and barn too....it was all def. worth it.

I know it doesn't seem like much but I'm just loving these random encounters and the risk/reward and consequences and rewards they yield.

    I love this game.

Finally went out into town and came across a Driscoll talking some garbage. So at first I just greeted him but then he went on. So I decided I'll antagonize him. This dude starts shooting at me and I take him out. But of course witnesses don't see who started it and suddenly I have the local deputies after me. I ended up paying the stupid $50 for handling my business.

At first I was disappointed I had to pay a fine for him shooting at me but I guess I deserved it for antagonizing him.

I'll be more careful now. Early lesson in the game.

          Red Dead Redemption 2

Was collecting a debt and in doing so this guy starts a fight with me and I take care of him. Then I have to loot him in order to collect the money but apparently someone thought that I was stealing and I got the law on me. Was able to hide from them but have a $10 bounty on me now. While hiding from the law I came across an encounter that I thought was a little weird. Will put it in spoilers just in case someone doesn’t want it spoiled.

This is how I'm playing as well. Great immersive experience. Navigating can be a little tough sometimes, but setting markers on the map lets them show up on the minimap when I D-pad down. Mostly I just try to get used to taking the same paths so I know where I'm going though - I'd rather rely on the minimap as little as possible.

                Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I can't get enough of this game, totally worth the wait.

Earlier I was out exploring and I come across a lady whose leg is trapped underneath her dead horse. I help her out and had the option to leave her or give her a ride home. I opt to take her home, which is not too far away in Valentine. I reach Valentine and get near where I'm supposed to drop her off, which is in the middle of the main street and full of people walking in seemingly every direction. I'm walking slowly with my horse, but some idiot decides to walk right in front of it, get knocked down and suddenly I'm wanted for "assault."

The lady, still on my horse, calls me a "cruel man" and now the marker where I was supposed to drop her off is gone and I have to get away to lose my wanted level. Despite all of this, she won't get off my horse and I can't interact with her for some reason. She's just stuck there on my horse, not moving, not talking, nothing. I have no choice, I lasso her off the horse and take her to a cliff where she is dropped to her doom.

I was just trying to be a nice guy...

I went into the sheriff's office to pay off a bounty, but instead they just pointed guns at me and I surrendered.

How was I supposed to pay it off??

                        Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I’ll admit, last night I was thinking to myself this game isn't for me. It's too slow paced, I'm fighting the controls somewhat, and I'm just getting more and more overwhelmed with things to do. Well, today I played some more and just relaxed instead of trying to rush through the game, and enjoyed it much much more. I'm going along with the story mode, but taking my time to stop and help others along the way, or beat/kill if need be. It's just an unbeliveable open world that feels alive and is breathtakingly beautiful. I'm quite sure I won't complete this game for many months, but that's ok. I'm loving being lost in the country and stumbling upon a desserted house, or stopping to talk to a couple men enjoying a camp fire. Then again, they weren't very happy I stopped and threatened me so I shot them dead and looted all their belongings.

I'm still coming to grips with having to keep yourself fed, bathing, taking care of your horse, etc. Some of these jobs feel monotonous, but add to the immersion of the game. I fully understand the crticisms of this seemingly cowboy life simulator, and I almost gave up too quickly. If you approach this game differently than any open world game before this, I think you'll appreciate it that much more.

Thanks. Now that I'm reading the HELP portions I'm able to figure this all out.

By the way, every time that I enter camp there are three icons in the top right corner of the screen, and for me they are all red. I feel like that means depleted resources for the camp (like money, food, etc.) but I'm not sure. I'm trying to look it up and figure out exactly how to take care of those things, but that is not established anywhere in said HELP menu. Anyone happen to know what those are for?

I wonder if having a beard when robbing someone and then cutting that beard would help in these situations.

I'm not deep enough in the game to know if the crime system is that fluid but makes me wonder.

yeah so it means gthey need food ammo or medical supplies, since we are in charge of ammo, you just go to the ledger by the money box and upgrade ammo, and your good there, or hunt a deer to bring in food.

You are right. They are food, meds, ammo. You can start donating carcasses ant meat cuts almost immediately I believe. You can’t do anything for the other two until you progress the story a bit.
