    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I can only play this game for 90 min - 2 hours at a time.

I really just feel like the game can be a giant chore. I'm enjoying it, but it feels a bit repetitive and some of the camp missions are a drag. I have no urge to do extra curricular activities with Dutch or Hosea or deal with most of the camp's bs. I like John for obvious reasons, but everyone else I want to avoid. I kind of miss just being a lone wolf in RDR1 and that's definitely possible because sometimes I go a long time without returning to camp, but the game inevitably drags you back there sometimes.

I have a long ways to go, but so far I'm at the 8/10 point with the game. It's a really good game and the bang for buck ratio is on point. There's plenty to get out of this game for $60 and the multiplayer hasn't even released yet. I just don't see the perfect score in it that a lot of reviewers gave it. I think there's quite a bit of Rockstar bias on those.

      Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

So I've been playing for a good 40 hours, and just found out some stores in towns have hidden illegal stuff going on.

I happened to walk behind the doctors building in Strawberry and found some random encounter in front of a high security door. Get prompted to look in the window, and look at that, come to find out the doc had some back room illegal **** going on and well, Arthur had to relieve them of the profits of said illegal ****. Of course as soon as I came out the door the law was all on my case. Had too book it out of strawberry on Roach, Arthur's white Arabian. I'm staying out of Strawberry for a while. That 300 or so was worth it.

Now im wandering around Valentine and Annesburg seeing if someone else has illegal profits Arthur needs to relieve them of. Im sure there's some shady stuff in Rhodes too.

      This game is great.

Not sure what I did, but the gunsmith in valentine is no longer in his shop. Hopefully I didn’t kill him. Is that even possible?

This happened to me. Actually never got my free gun (after helping his friend) because of it.

Walked in, got a notification to select a free gun, but no one was inside to help me. Had to leave and come back a day or so later. But when he finally showed up to work, he didn't give me the option to get a free gun.

Have you checked more than once?

I have been back several times. The icon is there, but no one in the shop.

The basement of the Gunsmith in Rhodes has a bit of something um “interesting” going on there.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Happened to me too. He was gone for a long time for me. Like I did 5 side missions or so before he finally came back. Never got my free gun either. Must be a bug they never patched.

See that's why I'm stretching it out over time. Once I got 100% in RDR I kind of stopped playing it. Just gotta wait for online I guess.

Or wait, did you get 100% yet? Or just complete the campaign mode?

Just completed campaign. I won't ever get 100%, just way too many plant and animal species in the game to get that.

Well I don't have the tallies up right now, but it seems in some aspects you only need "enough" of something and not everything. For example, you only need to complete like five bounties and find maybe ten treasure maps in total? There are more of both of those in the game though.

I don't know if plant and animal species act in the same way though. Do you need to identify all of them, or do they lower those ceilings as well to leave some overhead?
