I'll say this

RDR2 is a tricky slope of a game to measure because it hinges on a time period and not fantasy etc.

Open world free roam is really where its at though as far as a game that can offer so much to so many players.

One person can spend their entire time hunting and and fishing, the other? basically playing the storyline

what makes me enjoy RDR2 so much is that its care to detail and free roam landscape.

Pretty good game. Cried a lot in the end. Back half of the game almost killed me.

Beautiful game visually. 5 Star voice and sound direction from top to bottom. Strong story (that had a lot of filler but whatever).


I give it a 7 (don’t overreact). I took a point away because once I beat it I had absolutely zero desire to play the game again. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself. The game is just EXHAUSTING to play. And I know rockstar intentionally made it so. And I do respect them for it. But man it’s one game I have to be in the mood to play, and it’s hard. I don’t know how to articulate it well.


I don’t have high hopes for the online so I’m about done for good with it.

Amazing game. But I honestly had more fun playing AC Odyssey GoW and Spider-Man, even though RDR2 is clearly the best made game of the year by far.

And that soundtrack? Lord that thing is amazing. The final sequence of the game in particular. Bone chillingly good. Well done rockstar.

I think I am gonna have to quit checking this thread as people are getting loose on stuff related to the ending and the story. Even if its just something small and not specifics I don't want to hear generic things about the ending.

Any updates on the HDR issue? I'm slowly going through the first Red Dead again as I tend to wait for a few patches to drop on all new releases to iron out the bugs.

I'm the opposite. I feel like I barely see any rain and even when it does, it's gone as soon as it comes.

In my play through it rained quite a bit, but it didn't last long. Had regular rains, windy thunderstorms with a lot of lightening and some dust storms. Some times I would just stop and set up my tent when it rained.

Have to say I absolutely love the replica that R* made of the Oak Ally Plantation. The world in RDR kind of reminds me of Louisiana in a way. Maybe that has something to do with it.
