I clicked the spoiler and had no idea what he said ha. I just found it weird that I died in valentine then fired up the game and I was suddenly in New Orleans type of town

I really like this wanted system though, at least in terms of there being a physical witness, an actual investigation, and a proper reporting with another investigation. What I also like is if the witness doesn't see you do it or if you aren't sought out in time by law enforcement that you can get away without having to pay a bounty.

Yeah I noticed this too. I had a witness get away from a crime and report it (I had a mask on, so it said "unknown suspect"), and when the law got there I hid on some really high ground a good distance away from them (but still in the wanted search zone). After about 5 minutes they stopped searching and dispersed - and the Wanted warning immediately disappeared with no bounty placed - since they never knew it was me.

So, you could probably even hide in the middle of a town if you found a good enough hiding spot.

Interesting. I have not been provocative while playing free roam. One of the very few incidents I had was a misunderstanding where I shot someone while defending myself. There was a witness that took off on foot. By the time I caught up to him we were on the outskirts of a ranch. I lassoed him, which he took great exception to (I guess I would too lol). Anyway, he was extremely upset, so I hogtied him and whistled for my horse. To avoid any further witnesses and this spiraling out of control, I rode off and spotted a isolated wooded area, making sure it was outside of earshot of any trails with passerby's. I unloaded him and was trying to do that tactic where you threaten them to never report to the authorities. I thought it might play out peacefully, but as soon as I cut him free he drew on me and shot me. I returned fire and there he laid, apparently expired. Not taking any chances, I walked over and put one in his temple just to make real sure.

Looks like Master Hunter challenge 5 is where things are gonna get interesting:

Skin 3 Black or Grizzly Bears. I haven't even seen one aside from the legendary an early mission tells you about. And it was a bit of an adventure actually killing that one - I just got the last killing shot off before it mauled me.

I'm sure I'll run across them sooner or later.

You may be disappointed.

I found a grizzly pretty close to camp and killed it with one shot to the head with the starting rifle, I was a little disappointed too. Maybe other grizzlies will be different.

Wow. Another neat little thing. If you're away from camp for too long Dutch will send someone out to search for you. Was just riding to a destination and Charles from the camp comes riding up behind me saying I'm a hard man to find. Asked when I'm coming back to camp and I said soon. Pretty cool.

I just spent the last 2 hours or so on 3 treasure hunts and walked away with 9 gold bars. Time to sell that to the Fence and rake in that cash!

I just witnessed a public hanging. The then-to-become widower was so distraught. Felt crazy real.

Speaking of treasure hunts, I'm currently on one and I swear I'm at the right location, but I can't seem to find anything to continue the hunt with. I don't want to know if it's wrong and then be told where that somewhere else is, but everything lines up to a tee.

Also, it's incredible to see the progress made on things that are being built.

I've got to get into the habit of trotting around with my shotgun on my hip. Getting ambushed with a full hunting cargo is not ideal.

Question for Xbox One, does this game have a main menu? If so how do you get to it? I'm afraid if I just press the button to go to the dashboard the game will still be running, throwing off my play time.
