Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I just switched to XBox for this. I had two saves. I think it reverted back to the old save. I must have overwrote the auto save. Only thing I can think of to explain it. My preorders are gone, such as extra medicine and that stuff. Not much but a pain in the butt.
I don't know why it would boot up my non-auto save, though. I wasn't connected to the Internet at the time of this issue, but that still doesn't make sense to me. I'm not subscribed to the overpriced Live Gold, so no access to a cloud.
That's why my favorite save system is the R* sleep-to-save system. They don't have it in this game, but I never really leave my console unless I go all the way back to camp, unload what I need to, then save right by my bed just out of pure habit.
Anyway, my point with the auto-save is I don't know if it's meant to load up from in case the console turns off or the game crashes. Even if it can and loads up an old save, then hopefully the auto-save is there unless you choose to overwrite it when they ask you to. If you overwrite that auto-save, you are SOL unless the Xbox has cloud backups like PlayStation does.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Was at the gym today. And there's this regular who is about 40, completely tatted up and talks games with me. And he's from Australia (just so you can use an Australian accent in your head lol)...he comes up to me...
"I've been playing that one that just came out, red dead"
"Oh yeah? How you liking it?"
"I think it's great. Yea. But I've run into a bit of trouble. I've been a bit stuck."
"What do you mean?"
"They keep giving me these bounties. Yea. And its making it hard for me to do anything in the game with all the bounties. Don't know what I'm supposed to do."
"You can try to stop killing people"
"Well I'm not really killing that many...yea. Actually, I am doing a lot of that"

Just witnessed an epic turf war between some turkeys and boars. I guess with it being Thanksgiving, the turkeys are super defensive. 😂#LFC

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
We are now in Chapter 3. Man......it just keeps getting better and better.
Still with my pre-order War Horse “Darla”. Her and I are having some great adventures together. I love the new camp’s location. Far better. We are in good with the town of Rhodes and things have settled down a little. Time to plan my next camping/hunting trip to upgrade some more satchels. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I have such a hard time with this game trying to decide on doing missions or just free roaming. I set my mind on free roaming and then I end up near a mission start site and think "Well, since I'm this close I might as well do it."
Any advice on going for upgraded satchels? Is it just a matter of commitment?
Also, like A&S above, I still have my pre-order War Horse in Chapter 3. My daughter name her Snow White. I will admit that my eyes are wandering for a new, upgraded, faster horse though......Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
One of the many things I love about this game is the feeling of randomness to a lot of actions.
Yesterday I happened upon a man struggling with an injury while riding his horse. Almost ignored him, decided to be a good samaritan. I plopped him onto my horse and transported him to Saint Denis to see the doctor. The doctor asked me to carry him to a separate room, showing great concern.
Seemed like a normal, par-for-the-course recovery and delivery. The doctor remained cautiously optimistic while looking at the man's arm injury. Mission seemed to be over and the doctor delivered one of those hint-that-mission-is-over types of lines, with the insinuation being that all that was going to happen in the mission had happened.
Then...
SpoilerThe doctor began talking about how the wound was infected and he might have to amputate, saying I should go because it's not something I'd want to see - again in a very passive sort of way, like the game was just trying to tell me to leave because all the script had completed. I took five steps out the door then randomly decided to come back and stick around just for the sake of nothing.
It was at that point that the doctor juiced the patient up on pain-killers then pulled out a hack saw, at which point he began amputating the guy's arm right in front of me, all the worst noises included (though, thankfully, the patient was sedated). The cut wasn't totally clean, bone was protruding. The doctor, splattered with blood, casually took the arm and tossed it into a metal waste bin below and said something like, "He should be fine."Comment

First off you should have put this in a spoiler. Seriously lame *** post.
Second....some of us actually like to you know role play during the campaign and love the challenge of hunting and earning it because post story the game will lose some luster.
But sheesh I am now out of this thread.
Awful lame post man. Congrats.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I don't mind that being revealed, but I do think any random events should be spoilered at the very least. Any side missions, homesteads, etc. all should be behind a spoiler, IMO.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I don’t see how that’s a spoiler either. What rockstar game has ever left you por after the end of the main story? Of course you’re gonna have money after the end of the story.
Anyway, I finished the whole story yesterday and wow, what a game. One part did make me think though
SpoilerAt the end of RDR when you meet Dutch on a snowy mountain he says “we gotta stop meeting like this John”. Obviously you saw Dutch earlier in the first game but I wonder if the reason they set the final scene with Micah dying on a snowy mountain, with Dutch present, as a callback to that.
Outside of that, I think the high honor Arthur death is one of the better endings to any game. It’s a nice way of showing that even as these guys live their badass lives, outliving gunfire and other outlaws, it’s still the 19th century, so an illness like tuberculosis will kill them.
Also, seeing John standing on the ridge overlooking the ranch at the end of the story after the credits just brought back so many good memories but also the saddest memory of RDR.

Then maybe don’t come into the thread in the first place especially weeks after release?
