I don't think RDRO is that poor right now. The disparity between the payouts of some missions and the prices of guns is an issue that definitely needs to change. I also think the level requirement on some things is a bit ridiculous, but overall the servers have smoothed out significantly since initial launch.

I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt with the Beta tag at the moment. If they keep it on there and it remains in this state for an extended period of time then I will stop giving that benefit to them. If they rollout the full thing and we get a lot more content, but the payouts and pricing don't change I will definitely be very disappointed, but I believe right now that the Beta tag should alter people's views and expectations for now. We should at least give it a bit of time and see what progress is going to be made and if this truly was a Beta testing phase for some things.

I'm assuming the prices/payouts are going to be adjusted a bit. I think they are at the ridiculous levels they are for a couple of reasons. 1) When R* lowers them to the levels they really wanted them at people are going to sing them praise even though they will still be high and need some grind like GTAO, and 2) I go back to them not wanting a lot of people accessing a lot of the guns and items in the Beta so they made it harder to get those items while things are tested. I don't think they'll do a wipe if #2 is correct like had been a possibility.

If they do do a wipe, though, I know with the way my playstyle has been my new character in the wipe will be Native American. All I do is run around with my knife, lasso, and bow and arrow. I hunt, I fish, and if anyone shoots at me first my buddy and I make sure they realize how much they messed up. Some of these animations with knives are brutal from what we've found out getting back at people. Also, I have to say that the Bolt Action Rifle = my favorite gun right now. Amazing accuracy and great range with my scope attachment added to it. It isn't fair using it against people who start things with us and have the base guns you get. They don't have the range nor power of the bolt action to compete as well so when they are trying to get in close just to be able to shoot either me or my buddy I can pick them off with my rifle while my buddy charges in with a knife or shotgun. Fun times.

In story mode we were both able to get the free items, maybe it's different in Online which sucks.

Had a great time with some of the OS guys last night posse'ing up and completing the rest of my story missions. They even got to do a few new ones because I was on a different story track than them - I had gone for the "Honorable" route. It was two or three missions they hadn't seen before, and then both tracks converged on the final mission.

I feel like right now I don't mind the exorbitant prices because a) it's a beta and b) most of the really expensive stuff is rank locked and I wouldn't be able to buy it until later anyway. Right now I'm mostly just hunting when I'm solo (bought the varmint rifle to help with that), and I'll add fishing to it when/if I'm able to rank up to buying a pole.

Thar Varmint rifle is deadly in PVP. Its accuracy is so pinpoint that it's a headshot machine and it shoots quick with relatively no kick to it. I had like a 15 kill streak with that thing yesterday. .22 will scratch the rest of your body, but it will kill you if it it's you in the head.

I’m really surprised at the amount of people buying into this being an actual legit “beta” in here. I guess rockstar was smart to tag it that way. I don’t think there will be a wipe like people are saying. Unless something goes wrong in which case they can again fall back on the beta excuse when everyone flips out.

IMO it's semantics at this point. Beta doesn't mean what it used to.

That said, there doesn't need to be ridiculous drastic changes to core gameplay with a "full release". People still have the idea that a Beta is not only NOT the final build but also that it will perfect or different product when it does "release". I don't see why they can't be "testing" things right now with the intent to fix what maybe broken and improve based on feedback.

                    Agree with this 100 percent.

I also think that if GTA V online launches smoothly the word “beta” would be nowhere near this right now. Devs are always testing new content in these online worlds. Beta tag on them or not. I don’t think the beta tag is there because of content but of course we will get more content. We hopefully will for years. I just think this is all they had for now and releasing in this lackluster content state and slapping the beta tag on it was obviously the right decision to cover their *** in case of a server meltdown.

I'm not buying in, I'm just not going to hate on them from the beginning. I'm simply giving them a chance to prove this was a beta and it will progress appropriately out of this phase.

It isn't crazy to give them a chance to prove themselves with is it?

I find the swamp areas, Van Horn and Annesburg areas of the map to be empty of people. GOOD. Everybody seem to be clustered around Amarillo, Tumbleweed, Austin, Blackwater and Valentine. I wish the camping was a little bit more precise. Like I want to camp EXACTLY where I am at the moment. Kind of takes the fun out of finding a really good hidden spot just to find out you can't camp there, instead you have to pick a predetermined spot in a region.

I also agree with Gagon. Stranger missions aren't working for me either.

I just wish I could setup a little campfire to cook wherever I am. Hopefully that is a quick adjustment they make.

Are you talking about online play or regular SP?

I think we should have a thread dedicated specifically for online play (in the NSG Online sub-forum).

Maybe I have nothing to say to Rockstar.

Reread my post. I made it very clear that this title is the confirmation that online is not for me. Instead of reacting so quickly, you could have realized that it likely means that I already don't play online much at all.

I'm not missing anything. Online gaming is whack to me. And RDR2's online is further confirmation that I'm wasting money ever trying to get into it.

Not for me. I never said it was trash or something someone else couldn't enjoy.
