Even focusing on missions is like watching paint dry, fortunately they allow you to skip some of the cut scenes, but that's like being allowed to run a red light only to get to the next red light.

Sorry, I had to say it: The emperor has no clothes.

I'm on my 2nd play through (slower pace, doing all side missions, got all the pelts I need to upgrade satchel/camp/etc) and while this has been much more enjoyable than the 1st run, once you get to Saint Denis you realize just how much filler is in this story line. A good 15-20% of this could have been left on the cutting room floor.

I.E. Chapter 4 pseudo but not really spoiler.

At the very least the map could have been better utilized so that even if missions are repetitive, they're not in the same environments. It's wild that they built this gigantic map and use only like 30% of it for a 50 hour story mode.

I have mentioned this before that the size of the gang is a detriment to the story. There are too many mouths to feed from a plotting perspective.

I do agree that my second playthrough was far more enjoyable, in big part due to understanding the characters and knowing who is more important and what/who to pay close attention to.

Once I am done with the Epilogue....I am done. I have played at least over 65 hours on this game already. I have certainly gotten my fill.

One day I will return to it and replay it with a different approach. But I have truly enjoyed the experience.

Time to move on and play some other games in my ridiculous backlog.

Oh man, roaming around after the Epilogue is so awesome. Granted I still had some gang stuff, stranger missions, and hunting to wrap up.

Same here. I’ve actually enjoyed roaming the landscape walking in to random houses and looting the place, or holding up the stranger I pass on the trail.

One cool feature post-epilogue would be the ability to reset all gang-related stuff as well as bounties. So you start from scratch with the hideouts and ambushes and all those crazy interactions. It would add some fun replay value and keep things lively.

BTW, the Skinner Gang is so f'd up compared to all other gangs. It is creepy as hell traveling through Tall Trees at night. Cool to see so many campfires through the trees but the impending sense of danger and doom is palpable.

Skinner Gang are definitely a wild group of people. I already have my rifle drawn whenever I ride thru Tall Trees.

I knew it was wild when I was riding along and seen a Horse just marching along with a Headless dude. Oh hell nah lmao
