I would say it has surpassed The Witcher 3 in visuals.

It took me two hours and I only got to the hunting tutorial and didn't even start it.

I'll echo what others say, it's an awesome game that's really well done and I'm still in the tutorial

After playing some games with Photo Mode like Uncharted and Horizon Zero Dawn I sort of expect it. I hope it's coming with this game.

I have a NACON Pro controller that's wired.

It's a good controller, but I prefer my DS4. I bought it to hopefully do some custom button mapping for Battlefield, but I don't have huge hands so I can't move as fast on the controller.

              Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

No Rockstar game has ever looked this good! For an open world game, it really is quite a feat how beautiful and detailed it is. There's no comparison between this and RDR. No frame rate issues and wow does it look amazing in 4K on the One X.

I played for about an hour and a half last night, so not a lot of impressions to really add just yet. Thus far, it's pretty linear but that's to be expected. The game starts out slow, but the story and characters keep things interesting. Sometimes I found it a little difficult to distinguish who was speaking, so I initially turned on the sub titles. However, that got too distracting.

There seems like there's a lot of controls to remember. I'm sure it'll become second nature quickly, but it's more involved than what I'm used to for a Rockstar game. The depth of this game is substantial compared to the GTA series and previous RDR. It's not a complaint, but more so something to get used to. I think I'll appreciate it the more I play.

Here's my nit pick with the game. The movement in Rockstar games can feel a little clunky. As if the character can only run vertical or horizontal, but not freely in all different directions. It's something I'll adjust to, but sometimes I feel like I'm fighting with the controls. The cover system works well, but could be better.

All in all, a really good first impression.

                Pro-tip I read online:

There is a "toggle run" option in settings that if you turn on you can just turn running on and off compared to constantly hitting X/A.

Wow, I just accidentally hit restart mission instead of the check point option after failing and I lost so much progress.

Edit: actually wasn’t that bad. Most of the time was spent browsing outfits haha. Still would be careful about selecting restart mission though.

I'll use either man, I'm just tired of the coffee proximity sticks

Also I was working until 1 am so I only played an hour. Felt like I was watching a movie but I was involved in it. Stopped at that and back at it for the weekend

Still early for me, but it sure is easy to fall in love with Dutch and the gang. The writing and voice acting is exceptional.

played the game on both the X and Pro last night for about a half hour each. Boy does this game have it all, this is going to keep me busy for such a a long time, all through the winter of course and I'm going to love every minute of it. Great game, quite possible one of the greatest.

Like most people here I haven't had much time to play yet only got in about 30 minutes. I stayed up late the night before and since it was 11 before it got installed I figured I would just save it for tonight as I have gone out of my way to make no plans this weekend.

I'll be staying out of the thread for a while (until I actually, you know, get the game and all...) and I don't trust myself not to read/spoil stuff, but have fun and keep it clean out there!
