My backlot is so big that I think the only way I am ever going to get caught up is if I won a lot of money and could retire. So with that said I am just posting games I am going or may get this year and not older games.


Feb: Horizon
March: Got a switch system and Zelda
April: Yooka-Layee
May: Injustices 2
June: Crash bandicoot


There are a few other games to that I am most like going to get but may be 2018 games or don't have date yet.


Spider-Man: I think this is going to be a 2018 game or at best a late 2017 game.
Splatoon 2: I think I will get but all we know is it is coming out in the summer and we don't know if its single player is going to be much better then the first one or not.
Mario Odyssey: looks awesome but we just have it has holiday 2018.
Sonic Mania: Don't have a date yet and so far I have only seen a way to buy collectors edition for 70 and not just the game and sounds like it is only going to be digital and I don't like that. I am wanting to see how much it cost with out the collectors edition and may want for it to only cost like 20-30.


Final few things Crash I never really played before but have heard a lot of good things so I figured I would get the remaster it is like cheaper then buying all 3 any way. Besides having a big backlot that I don't even post and having a lot of games this year that I want I am also not sure how much I am going to be playing any thing outside of Zelda for a while as it is now my all time favorite video game passing Oot.

CURRENTLY PLAYING
- None (waiting to receive Killzone: Shadow Fall from GameFly so I can eliminate a few games from my backlog while waiting for SGW3)

COMPLETED
- For Honor (overall, an 8/10 with excellent combat and fighting mechanics. looks great. good music, sound and voice acting. good single player story campaigns with very good characters)
- Horizon: Zero Dawn (my second most played game this generation with over 130 hours played on hard difficulty. what an amazing game. easily the best looking game this generation despite a few bad facial animations here and there. excellent music, sound and voice acting. very good story and characters. superb gameplay and combat which is extremely fun to play. overall, a 9.5/10 and my second best game this generation behind only The Witcher III. looking forward to the eventual sequel but first, the expansion)
- Resident Evil VII: Biohazard (good 8/10 game with excellent visuals, good music, atmosphere and immersion. a step in the right direction but really hoping they go back to the third person perspective because while in general, the first person perspective is fine, during the boss battles, it's bad in my opinion. last third of the game also fell off story wise for me personally)

- Hitman: The Complete First Season (purchased and played after I finished RE VII but after two missions, it's just not for me. the ways to kill your targets is great but having to change outfits almost constantly was a turn off for me. if you're an old school Hitman fan, you'll love the new Hitman franchise)
- Nier: Automata (rented from GameFly and played up to the part where the game tells you to adjust the settings. good game but coming off of Horizon, I wasn't interested in playing two games in a row with robot/machine enemies)
- Sniper Elite 4 (rented from GameFly and played through the first two chapters. good game but simply didn't grab me to want to keep playing)

- Killzone: Shadow Fall (currently waiting for it to arrive. only played the tutorial the first time. this time, im going to play through it so I can knock it off my backlog list)
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands (played the open beta and will be getting back once I play and finish SGW3. Don't want to play with only three weeks left to go for SGW3 and having to work more days than not, no point in starting it yet. rather wait to play it after SGW3)
- Watch Dogs 2 (have only played the tutorial)

- Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 (this is the 2017 version of what im hoping will be a Far Cry type open world clone. 2016 version was supposed to be Homefront: The Revolution and while that had a few cool ideas and concepts, the game was a disaster. really hoping that this doesn't happen with this game but I wouldn't be surprised if it does. pre-ordering the game gives PS4/Xbox One/PC owners the season pass for free)

2017 has been an amazing year for me thus far. Two very good games in REVII and For Honor along with the second best game this generation in Horizon: Zero Dawn. And we're only three months in.

***MONTHLY UPDATE***

CURRENTLY PLAYING
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch) - Possibly the best game I've ever played. Has made me love the Switch and the future of the console. The game brings me back to my youth on a daily basis. Just played a shrine and I couldn't stop smiling. If there's a perfect game, this is it for me. (11/10 lol)

MLB The Show 17 (PS4) - What a fantastic sports game. Improved over 16 in every way. Very impressed and will be playing this for months. (9/10 so far)

COMPLETED in 2017
Day of the Tentacle Remastered (PS4) - Good remaster and super easy platinum. (7/10)

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (PS4) - Meh. Story was good. End was fun. Had some cool moments but still COD. (5.5/10)

PaRappa the Rapper 2 (PS2 on PS4) - Still loved it but first one is better (7.5/10)

Hitman (PS4) - Fantastic game. Best Hitman game to date. I'm still going back and replaying missions different ways. Such brilliance. (9.5/10)

PLAYED
Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4) - Beautiful game, best looking game this gen. Problem is that it came out right when Zelda did. I also don't love the machines stuff. Seems tedious at times. I will got back to it at some point. (8/10 so far)

Ghost Recon: Wildlands (PS4) - hated the beta. Got it as a gift for my birthday. It's a whole lot of meh from me. Extremely repetitive. First 10-15 hours were great then the repetition sat in. Lost interest. (6/10 so far)

Poochy & Yoshi's Wooly World (3DS) - fantastic port. Beautiful on the 3DS, plays smooth and lots of fun. (8/10 so far)

My backlog is insane. So will add to it as I play them during the year. Games like Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 which I've only played multiplayer so far.

2017 Gaming Plans

Currently playing The Show '17, Horizon Zero Dawn and Nioh ( which I have finished and am now playing on NG+ and MP). Getting Persona 5 very soon.

Nioh has been my favorite game so far this year in what has been an unbelievable year. I have taken a long break from Horizon so I need to get back into that before I forget too much of the story and/or how to play. I wanna finish that before beginning Persona 5.

I have Yakuza 0 on a rental and have not even installed it. I may return it for Nier. We'll see. I will also get Mass Effect once all the bugs are ironed out and it gets a price drop. That could be a rental as well. I put about 130 hours into Witcher 3 and never finished it. I need to do that someday too.

Added a Nintendo Switch to my collection, so at the moment I'm all-in on The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

On the PS4, it's MLB The Show 17, Horizon Zero Dawn and some NHL 17 and Madden 17.

In terms of games I'll be buying the rest of the year, they'll likely all be on the Switch, including NBA 2K18 and FIFA.

Sports Games: NBA 2K17, Madden 17, MLB the Show 17, Fight Night Champion, EA UFC 2, Fifa 17, NHL 17, Skate 3

Ghost Recon Wildlands: Still going strong and working my way through this with a friend. Absolutely love it.

For Honor: This has been quite the surprise for me. I didn't pay any attention to it prior to release, but it's always fun hopping online for a few matches and slicing dudes up.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: I put this on the back burner for a while so I could work my way through some other games, but they did a great job with this one. I've been a Tomb Raider fan from the beginning, so it was only a matter of time before I came back to it.

Red Dead Redemption: I probably only played it for 15 minutes when the game first came out, so I wanted to give it a fair shake before the new one drops. It's fun so far, but it hasn't blown me away yet. I'm probably 3 hours or so into the game, so we'll see how it goes.

Catherine: This game is pissing me off right now lol. It's quite a good puzzle game with an interesting story, but it can get frustrating at times.

Walking Dead: A New Frontier: This has been great, but the spacing out of the last episode was awful. Hopefully they drop the next one in a shorter period of time.

Backlog:

Persona 5: Haven't installed it yet. That will change soon.

Horizon: I have installed this one, but that's all I've done. I've had this for a week or so now.

Nioh: Great game, but I have to be in the right frame of mind to play it -- I haven't touched it for a while.

Resident Evil: Another game that I haven't fired up in a while. I enjoyed what I have played, but it seems like the game is going to be nothing but playing hide and seek. I don't know if I have the patience to finish it. We'll see. I need to put a bit more time into it.

Mafia 3: I bought this at launch and I'd guess I'm around halfway through it at this point. I enjoy the story and want to finish it, but the gameplay is just serviceable. That's probably the reason why I haven't played it in a while.

Witcher 3: I pop this in for a few hours every other month or so and get reminded of what an incredible game this is. I figure I'll be playing it for years because it's so massive. I'm nearing the end of the main storyline.

Valkyria Chronicles: Great game, just another victim of the backlog. I've been thinking about this one a lot lately, so I'm sure I'll play it again soon.

Titanfall: I played the first mission and it seemed decent enough, but I'm in no hurry to finish the campaign. I'll just stick to playing online for now.
