Xbox One: When it comes to sports games, thanks to Josh, I now play all pretty much close to default franchises with minor settings.

          Finished:
          Batman - Arkham Asylum
          Batman - Arkham City
          Sniper Elite 3

          Currently:

          TGC 2- OS Golf Society
NBA 2k16 Hawks chise with son year 2
          Madden 17 - Falcons chise year 2
          FIFA 17 - Everton/USA chise year 2
          Battlefield 1 - need a medic?

          Next up:
          Batman Arkham Night
          Elite Dangerous

Backlog/or stopped playing and might go back to:

TC The Division - finished over half of original story (60%) - might just go finish it.
TC Ghost Recon - got as gift, might get back into as well, just didnt grab me. (25%)

Witcher 3 - have complete digital edition, cannot wait to dive into this one, maybe on xbox one X, since getting graphical update for console.

          Looking forward to:
Battlefront 2 - hopefully everything BFront 1 should of been , and has a single player story.
A good racing sim: project cars 2? new Forza? New F1? Nascar Heat 2? Racer with real good single player franchise experience. TBD.
Xbox One X - contemplated making switch to ps4pro, but to far in on xbox, digitally, and love my elite controller. [emoji12] [emoji106]

            Re: 2017 Gaming Plans

Recently picked up an Xbox One S (did really well with GameStop's recent trade-in deal), and have started migrating my sports games over to that console. Here's what my breakdown looks like:

            Xbox One S
-NBA 2K17 (MyLeague with Portland Trail Blazers. 58-game season. Default Superstar. 2K just feels right on the Xbox, man)
            -Madden 17 (Giants franchise - Year 1)
-FIFA 17 (haven't played yet, but going to check it out this weekend)

            PS4
-Horizon Zero Dawn (slowly getting back into this after finishing the main story in Zelda)

            Switch
-The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (finished the main story. Incredible game! Played over 100 hours and am only at like 20% in terms of completion. I'm still playing, just wandering around, exploring the map and looking for Shrines and Korok seeds - I have the Korok Mask now, which really helps. I'll likely try and finish off a bunch of side quests here soon)
-Mario Kart 8 (fun pick up and play game. I venture online every so often and get destroyed, although once in a while I'll pull a Top 3 finish out of my hat)

A majority of my purchases for the rest of 2017 will be on the Switch. I know for sure:

            -NBA 2K18
            -FIFA Soccer
            -WWE 2K18
            -Super Mario Odyssey
            Currently Playing:
            MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

                      Re: 2017 Gaming Plans

Time for an update since I finished a game. I don’t finish too many games during the summer because when you live in Canada you have to enjoy everyday outside that you can because Winter is always coming.

Games Released in 2017 That I Want But Haven’t Purchased

                      Ghost Recon Wildlands
                      Mass Effect Andromedia

I had listed MLB The Show 17 but I’ll probably just pass at this point and wait for MLB 18 next March

                      Games Purchased in 2017

                      Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4)
                      Pillars of Eternity (PC)
Star Wars Empire at War (PC)
Life is Stange (PC) – Barely Touched
Stardew Valley (PC) – Barely Touched

                      Games Completed in 2017

Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4 – Hard -- 100 per cent – Level 50) I’m glad I listened to everyone here and played on Hard level because Normal would have been too easy. Interesting story but I grew tired of the fights at the end and just wanted to progress the story. 9.5 out of 10.

Far Cry 4 (PC – Normal – 100 per cent) I’ve played Far Cry 1, 2, 3 and this is probably my favourite in the series with Far Cry 2 a close second. Epic setting. I think they used mountains, elevation and climbing more effectively than any other game including Unchartered. My only complaint was there weren’t more missions/cut scenes involving the primary characters since they were so interesting. Pagan Min and Longus are some of my all-time favourite characters. Just wish I got to hear more from them. 9 out of 10.

Valkyria Chronicles (PC – Normal). Great game if you like turn based strategy in the Xcom mold and wanted your little dudes to have more personality. 9 out of 10.

Shadow of Mordor (PC -- 100 per cent) So many Orcs were slaughtered under my blade. 9 out of 10. I’ll play the DLC one day. Think I need a break for now from all the Orc carnage.

Dragon Age Inquisition (PC -- Normal) A masterpiece that took me forever to complete since I did almost all the side quests. My only complaint if you could call it that is that you didn’t really feel like you had control of the battles because your companions did their own thing. I guess I like turn based combat better. 9 out of 10.

                      Games Currently Playing

                      Here is the problem ...

Assassin's Creeds Unity (PC) -- 55 per cent – Making a big push to get this done. One of my favourite series.
                      Just Cause 3 (PS4) – 22 per cent
                      The Witcher 3 (PC -- Normal) -- Level 23
Ryse of Rome (PC -- Centaurian) -- 24 per cent
                      Fallout 4 (PC -- Hard) -- Level 20
                      Watch Dogs (PS4) – 10.1 per cent
Rise of the Tomb Raider (PC) – 6 per cent
XCom Enemy Within (PC -- Normal)
Far Cry: Blood Dragon (PC – Medium)

                      NBA 2K16 (PS4) -- Toronto (3-3)
                      Madden 16 (PS4) -- San Diego (2-5)
                      MLB 16 (PS4) – Toronto (11-8)
                      MLB 15 (PS4) --Washington (27-28)
                      MLB 14 (PS3) -- Los Angeles (20-13)
                      NHL 16 (PS4) – Pittsburgh (3-2)

                      Retro Gaming in 2017

Old games that I still play and want to finish

                      Grand Turismo 5 (PS3) – 54 per cent
Just Cause 2 (PS3) -- 40 per cent (Completed main story)

Oblivion: Shivering Isles (PC) -- Level 30
                      Crysis (PC) (7 of 11)
Bioshock Infinite (PC) (Hard, Area 28 of 40)
                      State of Decay (PC)
Shaddow of Colossus (PS3) (2 dead)
                      Beyond Two Souls (PS3)

                      Top Spin (Xbox360 -- Normal) -- Level 18
                      NHL 12 Be A Pro (Xbox360)
F1 Challenge (PC) -- Third Season
                      NBA 2K14 Be A Pro (PC) -- First Season -- 26 GP
                      College Hoops 2K8 (Xbox360) -- First Season -- (6-23)

                      The struggle is real

                        Re: 2017 Gaming Plans

I only bought one new release this year: Ghost Recon Wildlands. I finished that one playing coop campaign.

Other games I finished this year:
                        Sleeping Dogs
                        Gears of War 4
Fallout 4, plus most of the DLC
                        Firewatch
                        COD Infinite Warfare

Recently started Witcher 3 (level 14) and replaying COD Modern Warfare. After trying Destiny 2 beta, I started playing Destiny again.

Was playing a lot of Forza Horizon 3 and Madden Ultimate Team.

With digital sales and free games the backlog is growing. So I will be not buying too many games the rest of the year.

With EA Access, the only sports game I plan to buy is NBA 2K18.

Star Wars BF2 and COD Ww2 are the other games I want right now.

Halfway through the year and no new purchases...and honestly, I don't envision any forthcoming. So I'm right on-track!

                            Played the Live 18 demo.

Dude......superbly fun. Pre-ordered it for $40 bucks. No brainer to play a season of Miami Heat basketball on this title. Easy controls and the fun factor of Live is truly back this year. I have not touched an NBA Live title since the PS2 (NBA Live 06 was my last time with this series).

After years of 2K and the complicated controls (and them changing it almost every freaking year) and far too much canned animations taking over way to often....I feel far more looser and free playing NBA Live.

I will continue to jam 2K17 for my classic My league files which are a lot of fun. My league is unmatched in depth and simulation make no mistake.

But there is something to be said for a more casual sports game to have a lot of fun and not think to hard about it. Even play calling, and sub menus...all intuitive and easy to use. The presentation is also really strong. Not 2K level but very very good and the ESPN license is in full force. Arena and crowd noise though....off the hook. But defense for me is for real on NBA Live. Player weight means something and brickwalled defense on 2K does not apply here.

Really, a pleasant surprise for me!!!

Just picked up Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2. (I honestly don't know how I missed the first one)

Picking up Sonic Mania Collector's Edition next week.

Picking up Everybody's Golf at the end of the month.

So that is 4 more games added to the backlog....
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
