I loved Bloodborne, but this game is a lot more fun to play. My joy in Bloodborne came from making it through boss fights, but in this I enjoy the combat in general. Fighting against random enemies as you make your way through the level is satisfying on its own.

Re: Nioh
I'd say so. The difference in this game being that stamina (Ki) management plays a huge role. It's been a long time since I played NG, but I remember being able to beat that game while playing pretty reckless a lot of times. Get sloppy in Nioh and even the low-level goons will **** you up. That being said, I haven't felt like any of my deaths have been cheap.Comment

Re: Nioh
Played for about 4 hours today. Two of those I never got to another save point. Haha.
I am using the dual swords and the spear. Been pumping into stamina and skill. Not really sure what I should he dumping points into it.

I've been messing with dexterity for the ninja stuff and the poison tools have come in handy to finish off kills.Comment

Nioh
I'm still in the training I think but I'm really digging it thus far. I've died a few times already but coming from playing some of Bloodborne, I think I'm starting out much better in Nioh than I did in that.

Re: Nioh
That's what I was mainly pumping stats into, but I just dumped my last 3 or 4 level ups into magic. Some of the talismans are REALLY good so far. The oasis one is a huge AoE health buff, and the weakness talisman makes the enemy take a fair amount of extra damage per hit.
Some of the higher level talismans look ridiculous. I'm really interested in the sloth talisman that slows enemies attacks down. I imagine that being helpful on boss fights.
I'm up through the 2nd boss now and just completed one of the new side missions. The 2nd boss, without giving spoilers, was quite a challenge. I died about 5 times before I really got the timing down on her attacks. The debuff she can hit you with is ridiculous. Felt REALLY good taking her down.Comment

Re: Nioh
Be advised that the book goes up in price each time you buy it. From what I understand, the first time it is 3000, second time it is 10,000 and the third is (gulp!) 100,000! So be careful with those respecs!

Re: Nioh
This will be a controversial thing to say, but as someone who loved the Souls series and Bloodborne, I think this game is deeper and better. There is more to the combat and the loot just puts it over the top. I am still early in the game but I am blown away so far. Perhaps the only thing that the SoulsBorne series has over this game IMO may be atmosphere.

Shoot I've never played one of the Souls games though I still plan to get Souls III and I've yet to even beat Father G in Bloodborne but I really like the way Nioh feels.

Re: Nioh
Any tips on using equipment? I know the higher the number isn't always better, right?
