I'd be willing to bet that you'll still see XBOX versions of the game. Oh and it also depends on how early companies like SEGA and EA got the development kits. If it was before the time it was reported then we could possible see XBOX Next football games in 2005. If not, then we'll have to wait till 2006.
Edit: I'm actually going to take back my guess for EA. EA's major sports year starts with MVP Baseball (don't let the year fool you) so I doubt EA would jump to XBOX Next for their football titles if their baseball title isn't on it yet."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: More xbox 2 rumors--3 different versions??
Current X-Box doesnt look bad, a bit heavy but solid and sturdy plus a built in HD and Online connection.
PS II looks like it needs to be in my trunk amping some alpine system.
I like the Next Box look, I doubt it will be kept though, (all new concept designs never get kept the same).
Of course everyone is going to buy the HD version, (and I will get the PC like one when it comes out later).Comment

Re: More xbox 2 rumors--3 different versions??
I still don't get why people keep complaining about the weight and the look of the xbox. Why do you need a system that looks good when the games look great? The genesis and the super nintendo didn't look good at all but they still got sold.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: More xbox 2 rumors--3 different versions??
Has anyone considered this:
With 3 versions of the Xbox, programmers would have to most likely develop games for 3 different Xbox systems or for 1 single Xbox. Xbox Next and Xbox Next HD will be the most similar in terms of hardware, but the Xbox PC will probably have to be quite a bit different.
To add to that, the current Xbox HD is used to speed loading times and load levels so that the Xbox doesn't have to pull data from the DVD all the time. Now with an Xbox with a HD and one without, developers are either going to have to develop games differently for each Xbox type or they'll develop for the lowest level Xbox (Xbox Next) and just port the game to the Xbox HD - which leaves the HD as a large memory card. The HD would be useless in terms of load levels and loading times.
Just something I was thinking about it. I'm not sure I really like the idea of having 3 Xbox's if this would hold true.Comment
