Definitaly tackle Uncharted. You can get a very satisfying 25-30 hours of AAA video game platforming and story telling.

    UC4 was awesome.

LOL, great thread. Us and our first world problem of gaming backlog.

Honestly, my backlog on the PS4 and Xbox One is such that I'll turn on a system to play something, get overwhelmed by the choices....then turn on Netflix and watch Star Trek episodes.

Add to that, like Armor and Sword posted, The Show is pre-downloading on my PS4 as we speak and come Tuesday this will likely be a daily-player, so I don't know how I'll fit story-driven stuff like my Batman games or even Star Trek Online in to the mix, let alone Witcher III!

A fun problem to have, guys.

Now, time to watch a movie or more Trek....

I don't tackle my backlog. My backlog tackles me.

How do you tackle your backlog?

I have a huge backlog. My steam catalog alone is 92 games. I've yet to finish a game of CiV or Civ:BE for example

I just bought Horizon ZD as a reward for finishing something. I got through Firewatch in a couple of weeks; I actually found that gripping and of course not very challenging twitch skill wise. I'm enjoying Horizon and will probably stick with it for a while, but I doubt I will ever come close to finishing it.

I have a hangup where I have trouble playing later games in a series without finishing prior games, even when the later games are definitively better, such as the Assassins Creed series and The Witcher series. Gotta get over that. Fun games are fun.

I also need to admit to myself that I will rarely finish the main quest of games and redefine when a game has "left" my backlog. I play dozens of hours of Fifa, Nhl, TW PGA etc and never feel like they are backlog games when I move on from them.

So my strategy for tackling my backlog is to get good value out of a game, have fun with it until I get bored, and then consider it out of the backlog even if I dont finish the story. Going forward, thats what YouTube is gonna be for.

So get this I have been playing Zelda and like nothing else since it came out and still have a lot to do in that game. In only around 3 weeks NBA playoffs start and when that is going on I watch ever game and with there being like 2-4 games on ever day or night in till you get down to like 4 teams once playoffs start I have zero free time where I am not watching playoffs and so that means like a month playing zero or very little amount of games and on top of that Yooka-Layee comes out right around that time and I still have Horizon to go back and play more of to.

Just picked up another game not on my radar, Dishonored 2. Played the demo ending up liking it and bought it on sale for $30 via XboxLIVE. This comes just one week after picking up Quantum Break for $24. This is why I will probably never catch up on my backlog.

Digital downloads don't help ones cause. I want to stick to one game and finish it but it's hard. Juggling games can't makes it hard to fully enjoy the story.

This has been exactly my issue. I had been able to resist the digital downloads for a while but then there were some awesome deals on games that I had been considering for a while. They got me for a couple of them and then it just snowballed to the point of checking the deals every week. Fortunately, I've been able to resist just about everything since the holidays though, or at least as far as non-sports games.

I very painfully have to tell myself to play what I have. Right now I want Watch Dogs 2, Xcom 2, and a few others are tempting. I don't need to spend money right now, and if I did I'd rather wait for a Switch. It's so hard to find the willpower sometimes, but I manage!
