I have a big backlog to and I think the only way I am ever going to not have a big one is if I win a lot of money and don't have to work. With the list you guys posted I think I am going to post mine in the next few days or so.

Re: How do you tackle your backlog?
One thing I started doing too is I always play these games on Normal difficulty (Alien Isolation I played on easy and it was still very tough) and if I run into any issues or am just stuck....I dial the level down to get through it and then put it back to normal. I simply do not have time to be "stuck" on a level, or a boss for an unreasonable amount of time.
The story is the most important part of these games for me. I can sacrifice some challenge (I don't give a crap about trophies) to move the story along.
On Normal difficulty I have not had to really ever dial a game down. But every now and then I will come across a game where I have to do that to advance the story.
The only thing different for me is that I don't adjust the difficulty if I hit a tough patch mid-way through the game. I might do it really early in the game if I feel like I need to but I don't bounce around.
On the bigger topic, I do need to just stop bouncing. I've tried having 2-3 non-sports games at a time but I think I'm going to have to just say 1 and keep at it. Of course, finding more time to play would help a TON, too.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: How do you tackle your backlog?
Difficulty wise, I always play on HARD but never go past that or some weird insane difficulty where if you die once, you have to literally start over. Reason I play on HARD is because I want a good challenge and having a challenge also lengthens the game because I won't breeze through it as easily. Also, for the majority of games, rarely are they ever more than a one and done.
Only three games this generation have I played on a lower difficulty. Most recently was COD: IW (normal) mainly because I have FPS fatigue and just wanted to go through the story and side missions (completed 100%) without getting aggravated or frustrated since it was the first ever COD game I played. Second was Doom (easy) because well, I simply sucked at the game. Even on easy, I must have died at least 50 times if not more. Just too fast paced for me and that's with the sensitivity options at zero. Third was The Witcher III (normal) because it was my first RPG since the SNES/PSone eras. Wanted to truly enjoy the open world of it all and playing on a harder difficulty might have turned me off to the game which I didn't want to happen.
For those who sports games, best thing is to cut down on them. I realized years ago that how many years am I going to waste months playing Madden before realizing it's literally just a roster update every year? Yeah, yeah, I know but to me, after a while, that's all it was.
Last generation while still being a sports fanatic, I completed 30 games. This generation, I have already completed 42 games three and a half years in. I did have a backlog of around 15 games or so last generation but once I sell the consoles and move on to the next/current generation, im not going back.
As of right now, I currently have an 11 game backlog for this generation.
- Mercenary Kings (2014)
- Axiom Verge (2015)
- ACC: India (2016)
- ACC: Russia
- Ratchet & Clank
- Shadow of the Beast*
- Ori and the Blind Forest*
- I Am Setsuna*
- Forza Horizon 3*
- Watch Dogs 2
- Ghost Recon Wildlands (2017)
I received Watch Dogs 2 today from GameFly and hope to complete it before E3 week. Except for the last three games on the list, majority are short linear 5-15 hour games. Asterisk means that I don't possess the game whatsoever.
This excludes expansions from The Division, GRW, FH3 and Mafia III. Just too much stuff. Imagine if I was still playing Madden every year. Backlog would never end. LMAO.Comment
