Re: Player Unknown's Battlegrounds
funny how i posted about wanting more traditional modes, but the new update w/ TDM doesn't really work imo.
I guess i'd like a mode where you're either already gear'd up or guns come fully equipped.
I say that because I love sniping as I've posting a million times - but in PUBG, I've yet to find a true sniper and scope. Last match was the first time I'd seen an 8x scope. if they come in a drop-box that's too late in the game imo because the play area shrink down too small for snipers. Actuall a game mode with slower shrinking would be great or a 15min initial time before shrinking. I just feel like you're pushed too fast to make any decisions about weapons, usually you just get what you get imo.
This would be the best sniping experience ever on console imo because in the training area I grabbed a couple of snipers and an 8x and 15x scope and bullet drop/speed was cool and it would be very challenging and rewarding to do it in an actual game - trouble is after playing over 30 matches I haven't seen ONE.
Also I hope Phobia sees this - isn't DayZ the exact same game/engine but on server w/ zombies AND players? I think that might be easier for me to find what I want since the play area doesn't shrink - I also saw you post about another shooter that impressed you but the name escapes me... Anyway i was thinking about getting Dayz early acces for the one X, but I'm not 100%
Anyway, I'm loving PUBG anyway, it's such a great experience, SOOOOO much better than fortnite imo, this can actually get pretty nerve wracking and it's so satisfying getting kills in this while being very difficult at the same time.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

COD blackout may be more your flavor. Gear is a lot more liberal.

Re: Player Unknown's Battlegrounds
Anyway, players creating things like this should help me out:
really cool someone put that work in and I'm going to keep diving - just wondering now if a weapon like the m24 only comes in the way of air-drops...
Last night i was in a perfect scenario and finished 6th, but I happened to go for the junk yard in the rocky/red map and near the refinery it's all open in most direction so I could see guys coming from very far distances, I had a good M16 which is nice but only a red-dot sight, so I waited and got a couple of kills but would have been nice to have a scope, I probably would have got 5 kills. I was super lucky too because most of the game the shinking areas I was already within. I also didn't realize that being outside the circle damages you MUCH faster late-game.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Player Unknown's Battlegrounds
Don’t think it was an odd suggestion. COD is really similar to PUBG....as they basically copied it.
I have grown to like COD more as they have streamlined the game time a bit and the ballistics are just as good....plus you get some better sniping loot easier.
A lot of people didn’t give Blackout a chance because it was a COD game, I have found it to be quite well done.

That's not true, 8x lay around and only the 15x is crate dropped. Hell all level 3 items now lay around(lvl3 helmet, vest, and backpack). There is plenty of LONG range fights, hell most my fights are border line out of range for the M16. I wish I saved some of my rounds last night, I got a Kar98 with a 6x right as I landed. I scored 4 kills from good range and even one w/ a headshot on a guy going full speed in a car at around 100 meters. The very next round, I land & score a 4 piece at shooting range with a cross bow and the revolver pistol. I then found a Kar98 and a 4x in shooting range and went on to finish 5th with it ending at military.
For me the pace of the game is perfect, not to slow, and surely not to fast. I think you need to play it a LOT more in my opinion. I have 1000 hours and have been playing since the end of 2015 (alpha). I've seen the game transition through many stages and think it's finally in a great state.
No, Bluehole built this engine for PUBG directly. The original mod is what your are thinking of, PlayerUnknown released the mod on ARMA 3 which is the same engine DayZ uses. That mod was fantastic too and much more realistic than even PUBG. I'm not 100% on which shooter it could be, I play a lot lol. I'll name a few to give you an idea THEN I'll give my recommendation. One thing I know, it isn't DayZ, that game has been an absolute disaster and I suggest staying faaaarrrrrr away!
Post Scriptum, ARMA 3, Insurgency Sandstorm, Rising Storm Vietnam, Squad, Escape from Tarkov, PUBG, COD 4, and BF5 are all games I currently play off & on. For me, I think Squad would be the best game for you. It's "slowish" in nature, realistic, but without all the complicated buttons & movement that many sims like to throw at you. It's strictly online PvP (I believe 32 vs 32). You have everything from tanks, snipers, medics, to regular grunt infantry. Most of the engagements you are shooting at tiny specks because it's like real life, the combat is from hillside across a valley to another hillside.
The beginning of this video is similar to how the fights in Squad will look.

I deleted all my videos that had a cam in them so I lost a ton of footage with Squad, but this is Post Scriptum which is the same engine just based in WW2.

After I wrote my piece, I actually had 2 games out of 5 where I found a Kar98, only one where i had a scope though which was 3x and neither where there was much open ground. I then had a match where I found an M24 in the castle, but I was thinking it was a dropped gun from a crate BC there was no ammo for it, anywhere near by either so after grabbing it and having an 8x scope I had no bullets! and from the castle there would have been some great long range opportunities.
I'm finishing pretty well lately getting top 10's probably every 3rd game, best finish was 2nd which many would have laughed at - I was so paranoid spinning around in the tiny circle looking for him - then i heard the metal sound of a frag landing beside me and...whelp see ya later! lol
it's a total blast and crazy addicting - good to note on DayZ, I was going to grab it just based off the engine, but I guess not yet anyway - no rush.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Thanks for responding. The game you mentioned that I remember because of the video was 100% post scriptum - that looks really cool too.

Here is a small example of me doing just that. Me and my dad were playing some duos, he got taken out early, and I decided to challenge this pair. By utilizing leaning & the QBU w/ a 4x I was able to land effective shots while exposing very little to hit (except for the end where I spaz trying to finish his partner before the blue would get me).
Use the scopes & sniper rifles to scores kills with minimal fire, 1) Less noise means less of a chance people closing on your position 2) Scopes can end fights in 1 to 2 shots if you can hit the head shots. 3) Don't attempt to utilize them laying down like a real sniper lol, laying = no movement capabilities to avoid return fire.

Re: Player Unknown's Battlegrounds
It use to be a thing in H1Z1 battle royale where there was different benefits to each shoe type. Boots helped fall damage but were loud, sneakers were fast but medium volume, and bare feet were really quiet. PUBG then came around and people started dropping their shoes thinking it made a difference BUT it does not. Two different sound effects for shoes vs bare feet but both are the same db volume.
