When Warzone dropped I said that it was going to kill my desire to play PUBG. That ended up being 100% accurate.

I tried to play PUBG about a month ago and that session lasted no more than 10 minutes. I couldn't deal with the unstable frame rate and poor graphics anymore. I put hundreds of hours into this game and I had a great time, but I agree that it desperately needs a facelift.

I'd love to see this game come back with a sequel. Hopefully, they don't milk this one forever instead.

I feel like it would be hard to keep milking it when there's much better alternatives. They have lost a considerable amount of their userbase.

I'm not against pubg2, I think that would be awesome - BUT - they are adding a new map, gun, modes etc, so I don't think that will happen for at least another 6 months.

On the other hand, I tried cod BR as well but it didn't hold my interest. I still think the gunplay is the best of any game I can think of in PUBG. They are also improving the visuals for each map slowly.

I may be in the minority, but it is still holding my interest consistently. There is that new game dropping soon I will try out that looks realistic, sandstorm or something?

I don't mean milking it in terms of them continuing to generate the revenue it once did. Because like you said, the userbase has dropped.

I mean that they may have reached a point where they're content with the success they've had, and they'll just keep supporting the current game for whoever is still playing it.

I remember reading an article where the creator of PUBG said he has no interest in doing a sequel. I don't know if that's changed, and he doesn't necessarily have to be involved for a sequel to happen, but I haven't heard anything promising about a new game either.

I generally prefer realistic shooters, so it's unfortunate that it's lost my interest. But going back to PUBG is a rough ride. I wouldn't even need a full sequel if they could lock in a steady frame rate and improve the visuals to modern standards.

I'm fine with the "graphics", I actually think they are pretty good. in terms of "visuals" for me it's frame-rate, eliminating hiccups and drastically improving draw-distance and pop-in.

The last two points, draw-distance and pop-in, usually are only an issue with scopes, but that's one of the big things I want from new consoles. If a game like BF or PUBG could maintain fidelity and quality even while scoped with a 15x aiming at someone 700m away - that would be dope.

For me the biggest areas of improvement available for next gen are that type of scaleability, size, draw distance - or having a much larger number of elements on screen at once. AI, animation, sound, total number of players are others, but sheer "graphics" to me at least, are fine. Resolution, art, textures can only go so far and I've reached the point where I'm not easily impressed in those areas.

When it comes to PUBG I don't see a big gap from a graphics standpoint in-game actually playing vs Cod. I think Cod has a ton of weirdness actually even in the visuals like textures in some places are odd for example. But that isn't to say I think PUBG graphics are better because they aren't, just saying to me it doesn't look bad or last gen or anything like that, it's 'good enough' for me.

Anyway, I see cyberpunk pulling me away from BR games in general for a bit, will be nice to have a break from always 'competing' which isn't always relaxing, it's crazy how good so many players are in both games.

I put graphics and visuals under the same umbrella. I agree with what you're saying here, especially the bolded part.

PUBG isn't gonna completely die off anytime soon, but I think a massive upgrade of some sort would be a nice show of gratitude to their fans who have supported it. They certainly have the talent (and money) to do it.

                Re: Player Unknown's Battlegrounds

                speaking of graphics...

next gen consoles... I'm ASSUMING it will benefit more than other games in general because of it's PC origins?

It wouldn't have a locked 30fps right? Since I play this game so much I was hoping to play on new systems and get a noticeable performance boost especially in fps. panning the camera in this game is hard to see any enemies because it's not that smooth.

Another thing I'm wondering back to my last post (I know nothing of how games work) is on the Series X, if I'm scoped in with a 8x or even 15x, would the game render more elements because of the system?
